작품 “존재적 욕망” 에 관한 조형성 연구

Abstract

인류는 그 변화의 속도를 가늠할 수 없을 정도로 빠르게 변화해왔다. 문명의 이기는 인간에게 삶의 편리와 윤택함을 주었지만, 급변하는 세상 속에서 인간은 점점 자신을 잃고 획일화되었다. 오늘날 인간은 자신의 존재(存在) 자체를 잊고 살아가며 그 존재의 이유마저 잃어가고 있다. 본인은 이러한 시각에서 ‘무엇이 그것을 있게 하는가?’라는 질문을 던져보게 되었다. 이 질문은 ‘존재’에 대한 고찰에서 그 존재를 지속시켜 주는 ‘에너지’에 대한 것으로 확장되었다. 본 논문에서 논할 작품들의 모티프는 바로 그 에너지에 관한 것이다. 인류와 생명체들은 끊임없이 생성과 소멸, 탄생을 거듭하면서 그 맥을 유지해 왔다. 본인은 그 맥을 유지하는 힘의 원천을 인간 내면의 ‘존재’를 지속 시키고자 하는 본능적 또는 후천적 ‘욕망’이라 본다. 이때 ‘욕망’은 일반적으로 쓰이는 무엇을 탐하는 간절한 마음이란 뜻의 부정적 의미보다는 인류존재의 원동력으로서 즉자적으로 파악할 수 있겠다. 본인은 이것을 인류의 영속성을 지탱해주는 본능적 열망 에너지로 그 범위를 한정한다. 결국 본인의 작품들은 존재의 영속성을 위한 욕망의 내․외적 현상들이 발산되는 탄생과 소멸의 순간을 표현한 것이라 요약되어질 수 있겠다. 본 논문은 본인의 작품의 이론적 배경에서부터 소재의 상징성과 표현방법에 대해 구체적으로 설명하면서 작품의 주제에 대해 중점적으로 논하고 있다. 본 논문은 크게 총 3장으로 아래와 같이 구성되어있다. 제 1장 서론에서는 작품 주제설정 동기와 연구 목적을 설명하였다. 제 2장 본론에서는 작품의 정신적 배경과 형태적 근거를 서술하였으며 작품 분석은 이미지를 통한 제작 의도와 제작기법 등을 기술하였다. 제 3장 결론에서는 연구의 요약 및 본인의 작품세계를 정리하며 앞으로의 작업관을 확립하고 나아갈 방향을 제시하였다.|Humans have changed at a speed that can’t be measured. Although the benefits of civilization brought humans convenience of life and abundance, humans have lost their uniqueness and become standardized. In these times, human beings have no longer the cause of their existence, forgetting their identity. At this point, I questioned ‘what made it exist?’ The question was also expanded to the ‘energy’ that maintained the existence in the consideration. The motives of the work in this study were about the ‘energy. Humans and all the living things continued their life repeating creation, disappear, and birth in cycle. For me, the source of the power that supports the cycle seemed instinctive or learned ‘desire’ to keep up the ‘existence’ inside humans. The ‘desire’ is not a negative meaning often used to describe fervent indulgence, but a propelling power of human society identified immediately. I restricted it to instinctive enthusiastic energy sustaining the continuity of human beings. My works, therefore, can be summarized to express the moment of birth and disappear that emit the interior and exterior phenomenon of desire for continual existence. This study focused on the themes of works, specifically explaining the theoretical background of my works, symbolism of material, and the method of expression. This study consists of three chapters like this; The first chapter, introduction, is about the motives of setting the works’ themes and the purpose of this study. The second chapter, body, shows spiritual background and formative basis of the works and analyzes the works completed with intentions and methods through images. The final chapter, conclusion, puts the summary of this study and ideology of my work into shape and put forward the direction that guide my views in the future.
