자연의 조형성을 응용한 현대 의상디자인 연구 : 식물의 모티브를 중심으로

Abstract

복식은 한 민족 내지는 한 집단의 정신과 이념 또는 시대와 문화적인 차이에 따라 독특한 조형성과 상징성을 지니고 있다. 현재와 더불어 미래에도 지구의 환경 악화가 지구인의 공통과제로 부각되고 있으며 이에 따른 심각한 인간 상실의 문제점을 볼 때 인간은 자연과 더불어 살며 사라져 가는 인간성을 회복하는 오늘날의 시대정신으로, 자연주의는 의미있는 전 세계적인 문화현상으로 받아들여지고 있다. 자연주의적 사고방식은 자연 그 자체를 되살리자는 차원에서 인간 보호 사고와 같이 하며, 현대 의상에 있어서도 자연주의는 중요한 테마로 대두되었다. 80년대 중반에 들어 세계 패션계는 에콜로지란 테마에 온갖 관심이 집중되었다. 본래 생태학의 뜻을 갖는 에콜로지는 오염되어 가는 지구환경을 보존, 훼손되지 않은 자연으로 회복하고픈 우리 시대 인들의 바람을 패션을 통하여 강한 메시지를 만들어 낸 것이다. 또한 환경보호 측면에 있어서 독특한 레이어링과 낡은 소재의 사용을 지향하는 그런지 룩에서도 소박, 자연스러움을 추구하는 자연주의적 정신이 나타난다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 자연의 조형적 요소가 주는 정형화된 아름다움을 주관적 관찰과 다양한 사고로 이미지를 형상화하여 식물의 예술적인 미와 조형적 미를 실용의상에 접목시켜서 작품을 제작하는데 그 주안점을 두었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 자연의 조형성을 응용한 의상 디자인을 식물을 모티브로 하여 표현하고, 질감의 다양한 표현 방법을 개발하여 실물작품 8점을 제작하고자 한다. 작품 제작에 있어서는 식물의 유기적 형태미를 섬세하면서도 단순하게 조형적으로 표현하는 벨기에 출신의 플로리스트인 다니엘 오스트(Daniel Ost: 1955~ )의 작품을 이용하여 자연의 조형성을 응용한 실물작품의 의상과 접목시키고자 한다. 실물작품 구성은 원피스 드레스 3벌, 바지 투피스 2벌, 스커트 투피스 3벌로 제작하였다. 본 연구에서 이론적 고찰과 작품 제작을 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자연을 응용한 모든 조형작품은 자연의 ?題嚥? 그치지 않고, 관찰과 실험을 통해 자연미에 인공미가 더해져 우수한 미적 가치를 지닌 새로운 조형물로 재창조되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 복식에서 자연주의라는 것은 꼭 어떤 특정한 시기에만 국한되어 나타나기보다는 각 시대에 요소별로 표현되어지며 강화되기도 하고 약화되기도 한다. 식물을 모티브로 한 의상의 작품 제작 방법에 있어서는 평면적, 입체적, 부조적 표현으로 구분할 수 있었다. 셋째, 다니엘 오스트의 작품에서 나타나는 조형미, 단순함 속에 돋보이는 장식성, 식물에 대한 풍부한 표현력, 간결하고 단순한 미, 우아하고 아름다운 미 등의 특징을 식물 작품의 의상과 접목했다. 넷째, 작품 소재로는 자연주의 경향에 부합되는 천연소재의 사용이 적당하겠으나 실용성과 경제성 등의 문제점이 대두되는 관계로 합성섬유와 실크, 울, 모직 등의 천연섬유를 함께 사용하였다. 소재 표현 기법은 그라데이션 염색을 기본으로 사용하였으며, 잉크젯 프린터, 테이핑, 주름 등을 식물의 조형성을 구체적으로 표현하는데 적합하였다. 다섯째, 실루엣은 모티브의 형태와 이미지를 표현하기 위해 단순한 실루엣을 주조로 하고, 인터록, 메탈 합성 섬유의 메탈용해, 홀치기 염, 양모의 수축 및 용해를 통해 장식적인 느낌을 입체적·부조적으로 표현하였다. 이와 같이 식물의 조형적 요소를 표현함에 있어 실용성과 예술성을 동시에 부여하기 위하여 실물작품은 단순한 실루엣과 구성요소를 갖추었고 식물이 주는 조형미를 질감의 개발로 표현하는데 그 의미를 두었다.|Dress and its ornaments have a special formulative nature and symbolic nature in accordance with the spirit and idea of one race or one group or individual or the period and the cultural difference. In the future as well as the present the environment aggravation of earth is being embossed as the common subject of earth men. And, from the viewpoint of serious humanity loss which is based on it, naturalism is being accepted as a significant global culture phenomenon as the period spirit of today that human beings should live with nature and restore disappearing humanity. Naturalistic ways of thinking shares with the thinking for the protection of human beings in the dimension to resuscitate nature, itself. And, in the world of fashion also, naturalism came to form an important theme. Naturalism was expressed with respectively different styles through diverse illuminations in accordance with social, cultural and philosophical viewpoint. And, the naturalism of modern times has changed in accordance with contemporary spirit. So, in this study, this researcher tried to express the clothing design to apply the plastic formulative nature by making plant of motif. The goal of this study is to manufacture works through the diverse expression methods of fabric by making the formulative nature of plant the motif. This researcher expressed made the concrete expression of plant and expressed the abstract image that plant gives through the expression techniques such as rumples, taping, indirok, metal solution of metal-synthetic-fiber, dyeing with uncolored spots, and contraction and solution of wool as the methods to express the image of plant in the course of manufacturing real things. As for materials, this researcher used, handwoven silk, polyester, silk satin, and wool etc. And, as for color tone, this researcher reflected the feeling that motif gives to the utmost. Composition was made with 3 suits of one piece, 2 suits of two piece of trousers, and 3 suits of two piece of skirt. Conclusion obtained through the manufacture in of clothes this study are as follows: First, this researcher examined the diverse application methods of nature formed through formulative works and clothing to apply nature forms and examined the clothing in flat expression, solid expression and embossing expression respectively in the clothing expression to make plant a motif. Second, it could be seen that all the plastic works to apply nature are recreated as new plastic objects to have excellent aesthetic value as artificial beauty is added to natural beauty while the will of human beings is intervened through observation and experiment without limiting it to the imitation of nature. Third, as for the expression techniques to be used for the manufacture of real things, this researcher used gradation dyeing mainly so as to show similarity to the natural object. And, ink-jet printer, taping, and rumples etc. were suitable for expressing the formulative nature of plant concretely. And, indirok, metal solution of metal-synthetic-fiber, dyeing with uncolored spots, and contraction and solution of wool were suitable for expressing the formulative nature of plant with abstraction. As for materials, this researcher used, handwoven silk, wool, and woolen cloth etc. so as to transmit the feeling of plant. And, as for silhouette, this researcher expressed with simple silhouette so as to emphasize the form and image of the motif. So as to give practical nature and artistry at the same time in expressing the formulative elements of plants like this, real works equipped simple silhouette and composition elements, and this researcher tried to lay the significance in expressing the plastic beauty that plants give for the development of texture of fabric.
