일상의 행위에 드러난 삶의 표현 연구

Abstract

예술은 현실 세계의 경험을 중심으로 이루어지는 하나의 산물로서, 예술에 있어서 인간의 주변상황과 일상적 삶의 모습들은 중요하다. 일상은 그 말의 뜻처럼, 끊임없는 반복적 행위들의 연속이다. 어떠한 목적에 따라서가 아닌 무의식적이거나, 그저 습관처럼 행해지는 행위들의 반복이다. 본인은 이러한 반복적 행위를 지극히 무료하고, 지루한 삶의 일면으로 바라보고 있다. 삶의 다양한 모습 중에서도, 극적이거나 특별한 순간이 아닌, 극히 평범한 일상의 행위를 통해서 지루하고 나른한 삶의 모습들을 표현하고 있다. 무의미하게 반복되는 일상의 행위는 공허한 삶의 측면을 인식하게 한다. 그런데 이 평범한 일상의 모습 뒤엔 정체 모를 불안의 요소 또한 숨겨져 있다. 언제든 예고 없이 찾아올지 모를 변화는 두려움의 대상이 되는 것으로, 작품 속에서 약간의 과장된 형태와, 긴장감이 느껴지는 구도로 암시된다. 본인의 작업은 인물의 일상적인 행위를 사진 찍는 것으로부터 시작되는데, 사진을 찍는 것은 작품의 드로잉과 같은 단계로서, 인물의 행위, 구도 등이 본인만의 시각으로 포착되는 중요한 과정이라고 할 수 있다. 작품의 중심이 되는 것은 인물의 행위로서, 인물 외의 나머지 부분은 여백처럼 처리되는데, 공간은 단순화되어 인물에게로 시선을 유도함과 동시에, 화면을 확장시키며 일상의 공허함과 무료한 분위기를 나타낸다. 작품 전반에 보이는 무채색 위주의 색조와 뿌연 톤은 삶의 불확실하고 모호한 의미와 연결되어진다. 본 논문은, 본인의 작업이 일상의 평범한 모습을 통해서 삶의 본질을 찾고자 하는 것임을 서술한 것으로, 본문에서는 작품의 내용이 되는 일상의 의미와, 인물의 행위, 공간, 색조 등 작품제작의 과정을 분석하였다. 일상의 단편적 모습만으로 삶의 다양한 측면을 하나로 정의하기는 어려우나, 삶에 관한 물음은 본인의 작품에 있어서, 계속되는 주제인 것이다.|Art is a product based on experience in the real world; human environment and appearance of daily life are important for art. As can be seen from the origin of the word, daily life is constructed of continuously-repeated behaviors. It is repetition of behaviors performed unconsciously or just habitually rather than for a certain purpose. I see such repetitive behaviors as one aspect of so dull and insipid a life. Among various aspects of life, the dull and wearisome moment of life is expressed through daily behaviors, which are extremely ordinary, rather than the dramatic or special moment. Daily behaviors repeated meaninglessly serve to recognize the emptiness of life. An mysterious element of anxiety is also hidden behind the appearance of such an ordinary daily life. A change that can arrive anytime without notice is a cause of apprehension, which is implicitly expressed as a somewhat exaggerated form and tension-causing composition. My work begins with taking picture of daily behaviors of a character, which is at the same stage with drawing for a picture and is an important process of capturing his or her behaviors and composition from my own viewpoint. What is the center of a work is a character's behaviors with the remaining parts expressed like a blank; besides, space is simplified to lead eyes to the character and extend picture, expressing emptiness and wearisome atmosphere of daily life. The blurry tone centered on achromatic colors in the entire work is associated with uncertain and ambiguous meanings of life. This article describes that my work aims at searching for the essence of life through an ordinary appearance of daily life, suggesting the meaning of daily life, which consists of the work, and analyzing the process of producing the work including a character's behaviors, space, and a tone of color. While it is unreasonable to define many aspects of life as one fragmentary appearance of daily life, an inquiry about life is a theme that will be dealt with in my work forever.
