일상의 노스텔지아(nostalgia) 표현 : 본인의 작품중심으로

Abstract

본 논문은 대학원 석사학위 청구 논문으로서 2003년에 제작된 본인의 작품 'Nostalgia' 연작의 제작 근거와 동기 그리고 작업 과정상의 기법과 형식에 대해 살펴본 논문이다. 본인의 작품은 디지털 카메라, 휴대폰 카메라, 카메라 등으로 기록하고 보관한 주변풍경과 사물에 대한 기억, 그리고 그 기록의 순간과 작업을 진행할 당시의 감정을 교차하여 나타낸 현상들을 지니고 있다. 본인은 이러한 작업과정을 통하여 삶과 내면의 의식이 작품에 투영되도록 하였으며, 또한 작품의 관람자로 하여금 과거를 느끼고 그리워하는 향수로서의 기능을 하길 의도하였다. 본 논문은 작품의 내용을 분석하는데 있어서, 기록되어진 풍경과 사물에 대한 추억을 연상케 하는 단계를 우선 설명하였고 또한 본인의 심리상태와 인간의 실루엣 이미지 표현을 연결하여 표현한 것에 대해 고찰하였다. 조형적 측면으로는 사진을 이용해 구성요소를 단순화함으로써 복잡한 형태를 단색과 여백으로 처리하여 서술적으로 화면을 구성한 점에 대해 제시하고 있다. 색채 면에서는 본인의 심리와 과거의 회상을 단면적으로 표현하는데 있어 검정색 사용의 당위성을 설명하였다. 또한 적극적으로 표현할 제작매체로 디지털 카메라를 이용하였고, 표현방법에 있어서도 컴퓨터를 이용하여 그레이스케일(Grayscale)로 전환하여 기억의 흔적으로 나타내고자 하였다. 본인은 이러한 작업의 과정을 통해 평범한 일상의 풍경 속에 투영된, 그리고 일상에서 필요하지만 소중하게 관심의 대상이 되지 않는 사물들에 투영된 자아의 내면세계를 화면에 형상화하려는 것을 궁극적인 목적으로 삼고자 하였다.|The purpose of this treatise (essay) is for the master degree of graduate studies. This is continuation of previous work, Nostalgia that focuses on the motive, basis, progress of technique and structures of the art works. The art works is concentrating on and crossing between memory of sceneries, objects and actual moment of the recordings that were taken from digital camera, mobile telephone camera and regular camera. Through the art works, it could reflect and bring out the consciousness of interior mind of individuals that he or she could feel and be nostalgic for the past. Analyzing contents of this treatise, it first explains about the scenery of landscapes and objects that carry out the reminiscence. Also, it describes how mentality of myself and silhouette imagery of human could link together. From the formative art point of view and perspective, it simplifies the components from complex that results compositions of picture consist of using single color and condensing margins. Chromatically, right mix and use of black color has reminded the singularity of reminiscence and mentality. As a medium of the art works' intent, digital camera was used. Also, using computer and turning into grayscale has shown that the art works state reminisces of past, not present. Throughout the art works, I would like to bring out the important from something that is ignored or missed in average daily life. Hoping and wishing that the carried out important could help the humans who are constantly losing sentimentality.
