<일상의 꿈>에 대한 연구 : 본인의 작품을 중심으로

Abstract

본 논문은 2004년 ＜일상의 꿈＞을 주제로 개인전을 했던 본인의 작품을 대상으로 제작 동기와 역사적, 이론적 배경과 작품 분석을 통해 고대에?? 현대까지의 흐름 속에서 본인의 위치와 앞으로 나아갈 바를 연구해 보고자 한 것이다. 역사의 조각들을 맞춰 가듯이 인류에게 매일 매일의 일상은 지속되어 왔으며 앞으로도 계속될 것이다. 일상이란 그저 스쳐 지나가는 순간들이 아니라 그 속에서 나를 찾게 해주는 근원지이자 다음을 위한 출발점이다. 고대 선사시대에 예술은 날마다 반복되는 일상처럼 삶의 한 부분이었고, 주술적인 역할도 함께 해왔다. 그러나 예술은 점차 일상과는 멀어진 감상을 위한 예술이 되어갔으며, 대중과의 소통도 단절되어가고 예술을 위한 예술이라는 권위주의적인 틀에 갇히게 되었다. 본인에게 일상이라는 소재는 누구든지 경험할 수 있는 것이면서도 극히 개인적인 감정의 표현이 가능하며, 마치 일기를 쓰듯이 솔직하고 자유롭게 작업할 수가 있도록 해 주었다. 동, 서양을 구분하지 않고 17~18세기부터 현대에 이르기까지 많은 작가들에게 일상의 모습은 예술적 관심과 표현의 대상이 되어왔으며, 친근한 소재로써 관객들과의 공감대 형성에 영향을 주었다. 작업을 계속해 가면서 추구하게 되는 것은 삶과 작품이 분리된 것이 아니라 작품이 생활 속에 녹아드는 것이며, 나아가서는 관객들과의 대화와 소통을 이루는 것인데, 최근 들어서는 작가와 대중 사이의 벽을 허무는 작업을 통해 다시금 예술과 일상의 재해석이 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문의 연구를 통해 현 시대를 살아가는 작가로써 하루하루의 삶 속에서 어떤 생각과 꿈을 가지고 살아가는 것이 나와 인류를 행복하게 하는 것인가를 생각해 보고자 했으며, 최초의 예술가로부터 현대의 예술가들까지 행해왔지만 여전히 본인에게도 창작의 즐거움을 제공하는 일상과 소통의 의미에 대하여 고찰해 볼 수 있는 소중한 기회로 삼고자 하였다.|This thesis intends to study the position of the writer herself ＆ her future way in the stream of drawing art from the ancient to the present through the analysis of art work, creating motive, and historical ＆ rhetorical background of work shown in the writer's private exhibition held in 2004 with the title, "Dream of Ordinary Life". Like rearranging the pieces of history in a new form, ordinary life has consistently continued since the beginning of history and will do for the coming years in the future. Routine life is not just passing moments but the foundation to find oneself in itself and the beginning of the next to come. In ancient prehistory times, art had played its role as a kind of routine life repeated every day. But art has been becoming a kind of art for sentiment far away from the ordinary as separated from the popular and closed in the frame of authority. To writer herself, ordinary life as something for anyone to experience is just like frankly written diary with the expression of private emotion and feelings. Regardless of whether artist himself or herself belongs to the oriental or the western, to artists from the 17th century to 18th century, ordinary life had become the object of expression which helped the formation of common view with onlookers. What is pursued together with continuing work activity is not the separation of work from life but being melted into life to communicate with onlookers closely and intimately. This study would be the chance to think over how to live a happy life happy in the life of every life as an artist getting along in modern times and the meaning of routine life ＆ communication which provide the pleasure of creation.
