이미지를 통한 내면의식 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 본인의 작품 속에 나타내고자 하는 내면의식에 관한 논문으로서 구체적 사물의 이미지를 통해 바라본 상징적인 풍경을 중심으로 구성하였다. 이것은 우리들 생활에 밀접한 구체적 사물을 모티브(motif)로 하여 작품을 제작하였지만 단순한 재현에서 머무르는 것이 아니라 새로운 시각으로 재해석하여 잠재되어 있는 주관적인 내면세계를 화면에 구성하는 방법으로 표현하고자 하였다. 본인은 계속해서 삶과 인간의 존재에 대한 물음으로 내면의식을 표현하는 작업을 진행시켜왔고 이러한 삶과 죽음에 대한 종교적 태도는 본인 작업의 내적 의미로 작용하여, 풍경을 통한 삶을 반추하게 만드는 역할을 한다. 이 때 상징이라는 표현 방법을 통해 작품은 더욱 구체적인 모습을 갖게 된다. 상징의 표출은 상상력과 감정이입을 통해 나타나는 것으로 일반적인 외부 세계에 개인의 내적 의미를 투사하고, 상상력을 동원하여 변형시켜 표출하는 것으로써, 개인의 내면세계를 외부에 보여주기 좋은 표현양식이다. 물 위에 떠돌거나 혹은 떠있는 도상들의 이미지를 통해 인생의 덧없음과 또한 신앙인으로서 갖게 되는 의식, 그 묘한 믿음의 경계를 이미지가 내포하고 있는 상징성을 통해 나타내고자 하였으며 창작을 하게 하는 원동력이 예술가의 감각, 감성, 이성에서 우러나오는 ‘내적 필연성’에 있음을 설명하고, 회화에 있어 내적 필연성과 그를 통한 표현과 감정이입이 어떻게 나타나고 있는지 살펴보았다. 이런 본인의 종교적 영원성에 근거한 관련성을 구체적으로 알아보기 위해 방법적으로는 일상적인 이미지를 차용함과 상징적인 표현의 조형적 전개가 어떻게 이루어졌는지 알아보며 이의 의미를 되새겨 본인의 창작 작업에 어떻게 활용되고 있으며, 이러한 방법들을 토대로 본인이 작품에서 추구하고자 하는 바가 무엇인지 논해 보고자 하였다.|This paper examines the expression of imaginations shown in the work of the author and focused on the imaginative scenes seen through specific objects. The author produced the work with the specific objects familiar to our life as a motive, but the author did not limit the work to mere expression of them, but tried to re-interpret them in a new viewpoint and composed his own subjective world on the screen. At this moment, the work acquires a more specific image through the expression method called symbol. The expression of symbols appears through imaginative powers and injection of emotions, and it adds the internal meaning of the individuals to the outside world in general. It expresses such meaning by changing it with imaginative powers and is a good form of expression for showing the inside of an individual to the surrounding as a public meaning. The main body explained that the momentum of creation exists in the “internal necessity” which comes from the feelings, emotion and reason of an artist, and examined how the internal necessity and the imaginativexpression through it appear in painting. To study such relationship more specifically, how the borrowing of the routine images and the morphological development of symbolic expressions appear in the methodological background and by reflecting the meaning of these, the author aimed to discuss how these are utilized in his creating activity and what he pursues in his works based on these methods. Therefore, the author, in his attempt to express his inside world on his works, tried to express symbolically the image of the specific objects and the forms that can be seen in the routine life. Also, he tried to form empathy with the audience who watches his works about his internal world.
