웨딩산업에서의 웨딩디렉터 활동에 대한 탐색적 연구
- Abstract
- 국내 웨딩산업은 1990년 이후 웨딩플래너, 웨딩컨설팅회사의 등장으로 급속한 발전과 변화를 거듭하고 있다. 예식장 문화가 이미 정착된 우리나라 결혼풍속에서 웨딩플래너는 결혼식 당일보다 결혼준비 시 필요한 전문가로 인식되어 왔다. 그러나 최근 특별한 결혼식을 하고자 하는 소비자들이 증가하면서 웨딩플래너의 역할과 더불어 결혼식을 기획?연출?진행 가능한 전문가를 요구하고 있다.
본 연구는 국내 웨딩산업현황과 예식형태에 대한 인식을 살펴보았으며, 웨딩관련 직업전문가에 대한 인식과 필요성에 따라 등장한 웨딩디렉터의 인식을 조사하여 웨딩관련 직업전문가로서 웨딩디렉터의 발전방안을 모색하는데 그 목적을 두었다.
본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 웨딩플래너는 결혼준비에 관한 전반적인 상담, 웨딩상품판매,계약 대행, 스케줄 관리, 업체동행 등의 결혼준비 과정에서 도움을 주는사람으로 준비과정에서의 역할과 비중이 높은 반면, 웨딩디렉터는 결혼식자체에 대한 기획에 연출을 진행을 총 관리하는 웨딩관련 직업전문가로서 결혼식 당일에 그 역할이 매우 중요하다.
둘째, 웨딩관련 직업전문가로 웨딩디렉터는‘고객의 예산에 맞춰 결혼준비 전체를 계획하고, 관련정보를 제공 및 상품소개, 스케줄관리, 결혼식 당일 행사를 기획?연출하며 총책임자’로 개념을 정리할 수 있다. 웨딩디렉터는 웨딩플래너보다 더 많은 역량을 필요로 하며, 결혼식 하객 규모는작아지고 인구는 줄어들지만 고객의 욕구는 더욱 개성화, 다양화, 맞춤화되어 외국과 비슷한 파티 형태의 결혼식으로 변화하면서 웨딩디렉터의수요는 증가할 것이다.
셋째, 웨딩산업의 발전을 위해서 웨딩관련 직업전문가는 고객에게 신뢰
를 바탕으로 투명한 거래와 합리적인 소비를 통한 건전한 결혼 문화 정
착을 위해 함께 노력해야 한다. 따라서 웨딩관련 교육기관에서는 전문교
육을 통한 전문 인력을 양성하고, 관련업체는 지속적이고 반복적인 교육
을 통한 웨딩관련 직업전문가의 역량 구축과 적합한 급여를 지급하여 안
정된 생활을 보장하여 이직을 최소화 하여야 한다. 또한 웨딩상품 가격의
표준화로 믿을 수 있는 상품을 고객에게 제공해야 하며, 서비스 부문에서
도 표쥰 규정을 마련하여 합리적인 서비스를 제공하여야 한다. 웨딩관련
직업전문가인 웨딩디렉터는 웨딩관련업체와 고객의 매개체 역할을 하면
서 웨딩상품을 합리적인 가격으로 안내해야 하며, 전문가로서 역량을 높
이기 위한 학습과 지속적인 자기계발이 필요하다. 고객은 구입하고자 하
는 웨딩상품과 서비스를 제공받기 위해 웨딩관련 직업전문가의 도움을
의뢰하는 것이 좋다. 그러나 올바른 정보 습득과 판단으로 합리적 지출을
하며 건전한 소비문화를 만들어 갈수 있다. 웨딩산업에서 웨딩디렉터는
웨딩관련 직업전문가로 역량을 높이 인정받고 고객으로부터 가장 필요로
하는 전문가로서 직업적 만족과 더불어 고객에게 더 나은 서비스를 제공
할 수 있다. 제공한 노동력과 서비스에 상응하는 대가를 관련 협회 또는
공인된 단체의 활동으로 신뢰를 바탕으로 모범적이고 표준화된 규정을
마련해 가야 할 것이다.
본 연구는 면접조사와 설문조사를 병행하였으나, 웨딩디렉터에 관련한
선행연구가 전무하여 비교 자료를 제시할 수 없어 심도 있는 연구가 되
지 못한 아쉬움이 있다. 그러나 직업전문가로서 웨딩디렉터에 대한 연구
로는 국내 최초의 연구로서 웨딩관련분야와 소비자들에게 의미 있는 자
료가 될 것이라 사료된다. 웨딩산업의 더욱 발전하기 위해서는 웨딩관련
직업전문가의 보다 상세한 연구와 더불어 웨딩산업의 문제점을 분석하고
제도 장치 마련을 위한 후속 연구가 이뤄지기를 바라는 바이다.
