우화를 통한 내면의 조형성 연구

Abstract

동양의 사상가 노자는 <도덕경>에서 인간을 자연의 일부, 자연적 본성을 지닌 존재로 그렸다. 자연의 섭리대로 살아가는 소박한 삶의 모습인 ‘무위자연’ 사상을 논했다. 또한 서양의 사상가 루소(Henri Rousseau)는 ‘자연으로 돌아가라.’ 며 자연을 빗대 인간의 본성, ‘인간 회복’을 추구했다. 현대 인간은 기계문명에 얽매이고 인위적인 제도 속에서 허덕이며 사는 한편 자연에 귀의하기를 꿈꾸며 살고 있다. 그런 가운데 예술이 인간과 자연을 연결해주는 매개체로서의 역할을 하고 있다. 오늘날의 조형예술에서 보더라도 자연 회귀를 갈망하는 모습들이 다양하게 나타나고 있는 것을 볼 수 있다. 또한 인간은 옛날부터 동물을 의인화하여 인간사회를 풍자하고 교훈과 유머를 주는 예가 많았다. 동물이 지니고 있는 본성을 바탕으로 인간의 정신적 가치를 표본으로 삼는 것과, 인간의 행위에 비유하여 우화적으로 표현하는 것을 좋아했다. 우화는 인간이 아닌 동물 또는 식물이 사람과 똑같이 행동하여 인간사회를 풍자함으로써 삶을 한결 윤택하고 아름답고 여유롭고 멋스럽게 해주는 역할을 한다. 그렇듯 자연과 사물에 또 하나의 생활 감정을 부여하고 교훈과 해학적인 재미를 주는 점이 본인으로 하여금 우화에 관심을 갖게 만들었다. 바로 그 점이 작품을 형상화하는데 동기가 되었다. 본 논문은 본인의 작품의 이론적 배경에서부터 소재의 상징성과 표현방법, 작품의 주제에 대해 논하고 있다. 본 논문은 총 3장으로 구성되어 있다. 제 1장 서론에서는 작품 주제설정 동기와 연구목적을 설명하였다. 제 2장 본론에서는 작품의 정신적 배경과 형태적 근거를 서술하였으며 개별 작품의 설명을 위하여 작품의 이미지를 통해 제작 의도와 제작 기법 등을 서술하였다. 제 3장 결론에서는 본 논문의 내용을 총괄하여 본인 작품의 궁극적 목적을 서술하고 앞으로의 작업관을 확립하고 나아갈 방향을 제시하였다.|A thinker of the East, Lao-tzu described human being as a part of nature, the existence to have natural original nature in <moral scripture>. He discussed the thought of 'idle nature' which is the form of simple life to live as the providence of nature. In addition, a thinker of the East, Henri Rousseau sought human original nature, 'human restoration' through nature, saying, 'Return to nature.' While modern human beings live, being bound by machine civilization and being exhausted in artificial system, they live, dreaming to embrace nature. Then, art is playing the role of medium to link human beings and nature. To see in the plastic art of today, we can see that forms to thirst for nature recurrence are appearing diversely. In addition, there were many cases that human beings satirized human society and gave instruction and humor by personifying animal from old times. They like to make spiritual value of human being as model on the basis of original nature that animal has and to express allegorically by comparing to the action of human being. Fable plays the role of making life rich, beautiful, comfortable, and smart by satirizing human society as animal or plant which is not human being acts just like human being. Like that, point to give another life feeling to nature and thing and give instruction and humorous interest made me have interest about fable. Just that point became the motive for making work into form. This thesis is discussing symbolical nature of material, expression method, and subject of work from the theoretical background of my work.
