요하네스 브람스의<바이올린 소나타 제 1번 G장조, Op.78>의 제 1악장 분석과 연주가이드

Abstract

Brahms is a composer of the Romantic period. However, his music emphasizes classical form based on the classical style and is characterized by colorful romantic harmony with elegant melody. For example, lyrical and rich tone is created by changing the simple melody variously with contrapuntal composition technique such as sequence, over leaping, canon technique etc. This paper intensively analyzed the 1st movement of Brahms’s Violin Sonata No. 1, Op.78 G major and presented the playing guide based on it. First, the sonata form was briefly described and life and musical features were found out to understand the characteristics of Brahms’s Sonatas and Brahms’s world of works from various perspects. In internally deep music of Brahms, the 1st movement of Violin Sonata No.1, Op.78 G major consists of the sonata form, the typical form of classicism and is brighter, more elegant and more lively than other Violin Sonata works of him. The dotted rhythm is dominant across the 1st movement and the tension is given by using the hemiola rhythm, which is the feature of Brahms’s music. In order to express Brahms-like tone and features, especially close and careful control is required in bowing technique. In order to express clear and ringing tone while generally using a bow a lot, proper speed and pressure of the bow need to be always maintained. A bow should be used to fully drag the length of the sound and not to disconnect between the sound and the sound by giving the pressure on the bow with a slow bow when expressing passionate music. In fingering, it should be changed according to one’s physical structure so that the position movement does not sound or practice should be fully done and vibrato should be carried out at various angles and rich volume should be expressed by performing adjust the proper width and speed depending on the phrase by using finger and wrist joints. Based on the above research, the analysis was provided to help musicians understand the music contents that they should know in the actual performance and the playing method was presented to more increase the expression effect of bowing and fingering, vibrato etc. by phrase. It is hoped that more detailed studies will be carried out in the future and this study will be helpful for violin players and those who appreciate the Brahms sonata.
