Abstract
요하네스 브람스(Johannes Brahms, 1833-1897)는 낭만적 감성을 고전적 형식 안에서 음악화한 작곡가이다. 그는 바흐(Johann Sebastian Bach, 1685-1750)와 베토벤(Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770-1827)의 음악으로부터 고전적인 형식미를 계승하였고, 멘델스존(Felix Mendelssohn, 1809-1847)과 슈만(Robert Schumann, 1810-1856)의 음악적 감성을 이어받아 독일 낭만파의 주요음악가로 활동했다. 브람스는 오페라를 제외한 모든 장르의 음악을 작곡하였으며 그중에서도 실내악곡에 큰 비중을 두었다. 그는 총 24개의 실내악 작품을 발표하였는데, 특정한 악기에 중점을 두지 않고 다양한 편성을 시도한 것이 특징이다.
본 논문에서는 브람스 바이올린 소나타 2번, Op.100의 악장별 형식 분석과 특징을 파악하여 곡의 이해를 돕는 것을 목적으로 한다. 1악장은 소나타 형식, 2악장은 3부분 형식, 3악장은 론도형식을 사용하여 전통적인 소나타의 악장 구조 형태를 따르고 있다. 리듬은 당김음과 부점 리듬, 2:3의 교차 리듬이 특징적이며 주제적 동기의 전개에 있어서 하나의 주제적 동기를 계속 변형, 발전시키면서 동형진행, 모방, 성부교차 등을 사용하였다. 특히 피아노의 베이스 성부는 지속음이 많이 사용되었으며, 전조와 반음계의 사용으로 다양한 음악적 색채를 보이는 것이 특징이다.|Johannes Brahms (1833 ? 1897), among many composers from the Romantic period, is a composer who created music using romanticism within Classical framework. He assumed the beauty of Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven’s music, and his works present the essence of romanticism with the use of lovely and intimate melodies, grandiose themes, and rich harmony. However, he is viewed as a neoclassical musician as his best instrumental pieces are composed on the frameworks of Classical music.
In this thesis, I analyze Brahms’ Violin Sonata No.2, Op.100. The piece has three movement in sonata form, ternary form using A1(a1-b1)-A2(a2-b2)-A3(a3-b3), and the rondo.
The rhythmic pattern of this work can be found in the usages of syncopation, dotted notes and 2:3 polyrhythm. In terms of development of thematic motives, a motive undergoes, in many cases, sequencing, modifying, imitation and voice crossing through constant transformation. As for the piano's lower stave, pedal points are frequently employed, repeated usages of chromaticism result in highly colored melodies and modulation can be seen frequently.
