와유(臥遊)사상과 현대적 이미지의 표현연구

Abstract

본 논문은 2009년에 열린 석사학위 청구전에 대한 이론적 분석으로 중국 전통 산수화와 이론을 이해하는 방법으로 ‘와유(臥遊)’의 개념을 중심으로 현대사회에서의 이미지에 역할과 현상에 대한 연구이다. ‘와유’는 방안에 누워서 산수를 감상하면서 정신을 해방시키고자 나타난 개념이다. 그것은 경험에 의한 상상이 비롯되어졌다고 볼 수 있는 데 와유의 이러한 특징은 형태로서가 아닌 정신적으로 이해해야 하며 현실적 제한에서 벗어나 무궁한 공간과 시간으로 나아가 자유를 실현하고자하는 것은 인간이 자신의 범위를 초월해 우주로 뻗어나가려는 본체에 대한 궁극적인 존재론에서 비롯되어 진다고 볼 수 있다. 본인은 이러한 과정에서 상상이 동반되고 창조와 조형적인 활동으로 확대되어 진다고 보는데 우리가 일상생활에서 접하는 이미지들에도 투영될 수 있다고 할 수 있겠다. 이미지가 가지는 상징과 전달은 예술작품으로 제시가 되었을 때 그 의미는 더욱 모호해지고 혼란스러워진다. 복잡하고 다양한 이 시대에 이미지에 대한 견해는 수없이 논의되어 지고 있다. 이러한 끊임없는 물음과 인식을 통해 결국 자신의 선택에 의해 표현되어진 예술작품은 하나의 기호로 읽혀져 다양하게 해석되어 질 수 있다. 그 과정에서 감상자는 조형적인 요소와 더불어 시각적인 재미를 느끼면서 상상을 하게 되며, 작가는 창작과정에서 상상으로 인해 여러 조형 활동을 하게 된다. 상상은 현대사회에서 다의미성을 탐구하는 요소로 중요하게 생각되는 요소이며 이를 와유의 개념과 연결시켜 밝히고 있다. 본 논문에서는 와유의 형성과정과 전개를 통해 와유가 형성되어진 배경과 와유의 본질을 살펴보고, 그것이 현대사회의 이미지의 현상과 역할에 와유의 개념이 어떻게 해석 될 수 있는지 살펴본다. 또 본인의 작품 속에서 와유의 세계를 표현할 수 있는 조형적 요소들을 기호와 상징, 선, 여백으로 나누어 작품과 연결해 서술 하였다. 이를 토대로 계속 변화해가는 다양성이 중요시 되는 현대사회에서 와유를 통한 상상의 중요성을 모색하고, 앞으로 나아갈 방향을 본 논문을 통해 연구 하였다.|This thesis is the study on the role and phenomenon of image in modern society centering around the concept of Wayoo with method to understand Chinese traditional landscape and theory as theoretical analysis for exhibition to apply for master's degree which was held in 2009. Wayoo is concept which showed so as to release spirit, appreciating landscape by lying in room. It can be said that it originated from imagination by experience. Then, this feature of Wayoo should be understood with spirit which is not form. And, it can be seen that trying to realize freedom by getting out of actual limit and advancing to infinite space and time originates from ultimate existence theory for essence that human beings try to stretch to universe by transcending own range. I think that imagination is accompanied in this course and it is expanded to creation and plastid activity. Then, it can be said that it can be projected to images that we meet in daily life. As for symbol and transmission that image has, the meaning becomes vague and confused when they are presented as work of art. In this complex and diverse period, view for image is being discussed numemrously. Work of art expressed by own choice through this endless question and recognition may be interpreted diversely by being read as one symbol. In the course, appreciators get to imagine, feeling visual interest with plastic element. And, artists get to do various plastic activities by imagination in the course of creation. Imagination is element to be thought importantly as element to do research in mutil-meanining-nautre in modern society. And, I clarifying it by linking it to concept of Wayoo. In this thesis, I examine background that Wayoo was formed and the essence of Wayoo through formation course and unfolding of Wayoo and examine how the concept of Wayoo can be interpreted in phenomenon and role of image of modern society. And, after I classified plastic elements to be able to express the world of Wayoo in my work into mark, symbol, line and blank space, I described by linking it to work. On the basis of it, I groped for the importance of imagination through Wayoo in modern society that continuously changing diversity is taken serious view of and studied direction to have to advance in the future through this thesis.
