Art Therapy Education as an Alternative for the Adolescent Problem of Today.
Abstract
In a growth process, the adolescent experiences many kind of internal, external environmental change, recognizes relevance between oneself and society and forms personal opinion, a way of thinking about social phenomenon. In a positive point of view, this process is the period that the adolescent is taught to form upright humanity and identity through systematic curriculum. Today is the postmodernism age of cultural coexistence and it needs the education intends them to be a rational person can understand the difference of each other.
But actually today's adolescent has the problems in various aspect and the factor of problem is compositive composed of personal factor and social factor. Comparing to entire adolescent, the adolescent who are regarded as the social problem is just a few but in this study is also focused on the 'quiet' students. Because the lack of positive and active thought can be also can be regarded as the problem. In this way, for all the young people, it is very important to find ego and to cure the problem through education and the value gotten from the process.
This study is to consider cultural and personal problem of the adolescent which they have to feel by themselves and cope with and the cure of trauma on the side of therapeutic art education.
Many researchers state that artistic access develop young people's creativity and this progress contribute to the develop of creative spirit as well as the intelligent development.
Through this study, we examine cure mechanism and it verifly the therapeutic art education boost self-identity and self-esteem. We can reach a conclusion that the therapeutic art education promotes development of whole man. So therapeutic art education, this combination of the words can exist without loosing their original goal.
Therapeutic art education can have the educational value about mental function and the process of expression can do a role of self-data and it reaches to the inner trauma. Furthermore this operation raises catharsis that make it possible to clean up the agonizing and painful feelings. Through artistic activity, people learn to solve the problem using creative way and become to get intuition and more get adaptability. Also through artistic activity they become to investigate the new point of view, new expression way and new thought. Doing game, creation and communication is the essential part in the aspect of psychological, physical and mental health and this artistic activity offers this kind of experience. Powerful cure occurs in the point of contact of art and cure.
Through the study above, I present several way of application of the therapeutic art education. Through this, I think the young people can form their identity actively and in this progress they can cure themselves and can be guided to be adapted to cultural environment better.
