역사적 사고력 증진을 위한 내러티브 수업 모형
- Abstract
- Recently, there is a lot of teacher’s attempts to make academic class dynamic with students by using various contents and materials related to history. And by applying this class style, history teachers pursue student’s continuous interest in history beyond just understanding of history itself. Teachers also want to broaden their way of seeing the history with different views through an interesting and dynamic history course, however, if teachers too much emphasize on entertainment part for history course, it can result in hindering development of student’s ability to think historically.
For this reason, studies of how to achieve the dual target of “having an interest” and “ability to think historically” within a limited time have been continuously conducted. It is suggested to conduct studies of history class using narratives to enhance a sense of achievement and improve the ability to think historically among many other class materials as well. The purpose of this study is to cultivate the ability to think historically and encourage students to have an interest in a history class by applying historical narratives to the class.
This paper is to plan a history class by using historical narrative with 10thgrade highschool students who are learning history of Korea and have a grown historical consciousness. For anarrative class, one single major them is required. For this reason, various class for ms can be designed and apeasant movement, suggested as a mandatory subject to learn in the current academic curriculum, is selected for the class.
Secondly, an issue of the subject is selected by analyzing current 8 different Korean history textbooks. After that, the teachers held a discussion on each issue by groups and shared historical consciousness and encouraged students to understand history with empathy through an arrative writing activity. Furthermore, various data were given to the students to provide in-depth study contents.
