여행의 기록으로서 이미지와 자아성찰

Abstract

본 논문은 석사학위 청구 논문으로서 2005년 제작된 본인의 작품들을 대상으로 작품의 전개과정에 있어 표현하고자 했던 내용과 그 방법에 대해 분석한 것이다. 빠르게 변화하는 현대사회의 사람들은 삶의 여유를 뒤로한 채 분주하게 살아간다. 여행은 그들에게 재충전의 시간을 선사한다. 그리고 이것은 단순히 집을 떠난다는 의미를 넘어서 자신 본연의 모습을 찾기 위해 떠나는 하나의 과정이라고 할 수 있다. 본인의 작품에 나타나는 이미지들은 본인이 여행에서 갖게 된 체험을 바탕으로 하였으며, 여행을 통한 생각들과 느낌들을 표현하였다. 이러한 과정을 통하여 자신의 정체성에 대한 사고와 삶의 의미를 되새겨 보고 이를 통해 자아성찰과 내적 상처에 대한 치유의 의미를 갖게 되었다. 본 논고에서는 여행의 본연적 의미에 대해 다시 생각해 보고 본인에게 여행이 어떠한 의미를 가지는지에 대해 고찰해 보았다. 여행을 통하여 찾아 가는 자아의 표출 의도에 대하여 설명하고 그 과정이 가져다주는 치유의 역할에 대하여 논하였다. 여행의 기록으로부터 이미지 되는 과정과 그 가능성에 대해 서술하였다. 또한 형상화 과정으로서 본인의 여행 감성을 표현하기에 가장 적합한 드로잉의 의미와 표현방법에 대하여 설명하고 드로잉의 판화적인 구현의 필요성에 대해 서술하였으며 방법적인 대안에 대해 연구해 보았다. 여행의 시간성 표현에 있어서 색과 얼룩, 구김 등의 형상화 과정에 대해서 논하였다. 마지막으로는 실제 제작된 본인의 작품들을 통해 본인이 표현하고자 한 ‘여행의 기록으로서 이미지와 자아성찰’이 실제로 어떻게 시각적으로 구현되고 있는지 내용과 형식적 측면에서 서술 하였다. 결론에서는 서론에서 제시한 논지를 바탕으로 결과를 분석하고 그 의의를 살펴보았다.|In this thesis for a master`s degree, I analyze the contents and the expression of my works in 2005. People today have no time to rest themselves because of rapidly changing lifestyle. Travel presents them the opportunity to look after their soul. Travel is not merely a way to leave home. Rather, travel is a way to meet one`s true self. The images of my works come from my own experiences which I obtained en route. It means that I express my idea and feeling that I had while traveling. This process includes the purpose of self-reflection and the cure of mental hurts in modern life, such as self-alienation and loss of self. In this thesis, I studied the general meaning of travel and applied it to myself. I explained the intention to find and express one`s true self by traveling, and gave an account of the curative role occurring in this process. I described the process in which records were changed into images. In the process of materialization, I looked into the meaning and the role of drawing as a means of expressing my sensibility unrestrictedly, mentioned the necessity to convert drawing into printing, and then researched any other different way. I, also, treated of the process to combine the color, stains, and wrinkles into the characteristic of travel related with time. Lastly, I analyzed my works in order to confirm the visual realization of my theme, 'Self-reflection through Travel Image Expression'. In conclusion of this thesis, I made the significance of points that I presented in the introduction clear.
