안토닌 드보르작의 <플루트 소나티네 G장조 Op. 100>의 제 1악장 분석과 연주가이드

Abstract

안토닌 드보르작(Antonin Dvorak, 1841-1904)은 체코의 국민주의 운동과 함께 자신의 독창적인 창작기법으로 서서히 국제적인 명성을 얻으면서 낭만파 후기의 대표적인 작곡가가 되었다. 체코 민족의 정체성을 추구하면서 체코 민족이 전통으로 지켜온 민요나, 춤곡 등을 소재로 사용하고 고유한 음계, 자국 언어의 리듬과 억양들을 적용하여 작곡했다. 또한 미국에서 접하게 된 흑인 음악과 인디언 음악을 소재로 체코의 민속음악과 융합하여 작곡하였다. 드보르작은 미국에 체류할 당시 인디언 선율을 공부하고 콘서바토리의 아프리카계 미국 학생인 해리 버레이(Henry Burleigh, 1866-1949)가 부르는 농장노래와 영가를 듣고 지대한 영감을 받았다. 드보르작은 버레이의 노래를 5음계의 선율, 당김음, 리듬, 지속저음, 변격종지 등의 음악적 요소들로 가려내고 분류한 후 자신의 곡에 적용하였다. 드보르작의 음악적 특징들은 민속적 선율과 리듬의 재창조의 효과적인 배합으로 고전적 틀 안에서 예술적 민족성을 자연스럽게 결합시킨 것이다. 종합하면 앞서 말한 요소들이 자연스럽게 상호 보완하여 새로운 음악의 경지를 보여주었다. <소나티네 G장조, Op. 100>은 원래 드보르작이 미국으로 이주한 직후인 1893년에 바이올린과 피아노를 위해 작곡되었으며 1896년 체코의 남동부지방 부르노(Brno)에서 초연되었다. 이 작품은 보헤미아의 민속음악과 미국 흑인 음악, 인디언 음악의 요소들이 나타나 있으며, 자신의 아이들에게 선물하기 위해 만들어졌다. 그래서 이 곡은 아이들이 듣기 쉽고, 어른들 또한 즐길 수 있도록 작곡되었다. 20세기에 이르러 이 작품에 매료된 현존하는 최고의 플루티스트 제임스 골웨이(James Galway, 1939~)와 그의 피아니스트 필립 몰(Phillip Moll, 1943~)이 플루트를 위한 음역으로 재구성하여 출판하였다. 이후 이 작품은 드보르작의 대표적인 실내악 문헌으로 자리 잡아갔고 많은 플루트 연주자들이 즐겨 연주하는 문헌이 되었다. 이 논문은 안토닌 드보르작의 <플루트 소나티네 G장조, Op. 100> 1악장에 관한 분석 연구로서 드보르작의 생애와 그의 음악적 특징 등을 살펴보고 적절한 연주가이드를 제공한다.| Antonin Dvorak (1841-1904) has become a representative composer of the 19 century, gradually gained an international fame with his original and creative technique along with the Czech nationalism movement. In pursuit of the identity of the nation, he wrote compositions based on traditional folk songs, dance songs, etc, applying unique scales, rhythms and intonations of his native language. In addition, he adapted African-American and Native American music, which were introduced in America, with Bohemia's folk music. Dvorak has been inspired to study the Indian melody and listened to farm songs and spiritual songs by Henry Burleigh (1866-1949), an African-American student at the Conservatory. Dvorak analyzed and classified Burleigh’s songs with the musical elements such as pentatonic scale, syncopation, rhythm, basso ostinato, and plagal cadence, and applied them to his own songs. The musical characteristics of Dvorak, thus, naturally combine artistic ethnicity within the classical framework with the adaptation and effective combination of folk melodies and rhythms. These elements naturally complemented each other to build new music. <sonatine GMaj, Op. 100> by Antonin Dvorak was composed in 1893, shortly after Dvorak's move to the United States, and has been premiered in Brno, in the Southeastern part of the Czech Republic in 1896. This composition written presents Bohemia's folk music, African-American music, and Native American musical elements. He composed it as a gift for his own children. Therefore, it is easy for the children to listen and adults to enjoy. In the twentieth century, James Galway (1939-) and his pianist Phillip Moll (1943-), the greatest flutist fascinated by this work, reconstructed and published the transliteration for the flute. Since then, this composition has become a representative chamber music document of Dvorak and became a favorite document played by many flute players. This thesis is an analysis the 1st movement of <flute sonatine GMaj, Op. 100>by Antonin Dvorak and examines the life of Dvorak and his musical characteristics, and provides an appropriate playing technique.
