아동기의 리듬지도를 위한 효과적인 교수법 연구 : 달크로즈 유리드믹스를 중심으로

Abstract

20세기 음악 교육의 주된 화두는 교육으로서 음악 교육이 존재하여야 할 당위성의 문제이다. 음악 교육의 당위성의 문제는 음악을 고립된 하나의 작품으로서 배우는 것에서 벗어나, 음악을 배우는 과정에서 다양한 경험을 통해 예술적 정신 생활을 향유할 수 있도록 하기 위한 방법적 측면에 초점을 맞추게 하였다. 이러한 방법론적 중요성의 인식은 음악 교육이 무엇을 가르쳐야 하는지에 대한 논의를 제공하여, 현대 음악 교육에서 음악을 이루는 구조적인 개념들을 중시하고 그것을 지도하기 위한 효과적인 교수법 문제에 관심을 갖게 하였다. 음악을 이루는 구조적인 개념들 중 특히 리듬은 자연을 포함한 인간의 생활과 모든 예술에 내재된 기본적인 흐름으로, 화성이나 선율없이 단독으로 음악을 구성할 수 있다는 점에서 음악 교육의 출발점으로 삼을 수 있다. 리듬감의 발달은 청감각과 리듬감수능력이 급속히 발달하는 4세부터 9세 사이에 거의 완성된다. 따라서, 리듬을 출발점으로 삼는 음악 교육에서 아동기의 적절한 리듬 교수 방법은 한 아동의 음악적 성취를 좌우할 만큼 중요하다. 특히, 일반 음악 교육 이전의 4세에서 7세까지의 아동은 리듬에 흥미가 많고, 신체적 근육의 발달로 신체를 통한 움직임이 ?갯峠玖? 상상력과 호기심이 많다. 이러한 아동기의 특징은 신체를 사용하여 리듬을 자유롭게 표현할 수 있으며, 아동의 흥미와 상상력을 자극하는 동시에 리듬 발달에 중요한 시기인 아동의 리듬과 신체 발달을 고려한 교수 방법을 요구한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 리듬을 음악의 원동력으로 보고, 음악의 리듬을 신체를 사용하여 표현하는 달크로즈 유리드믹스 교수법을 아동의 리듬감을 발달시킬 수 있는 가장 효과적인 지도 방법으로 제안하였다. 달크로즈 유리드믹스 지도에 의한 4~7세 아동기의 리듬 발달을 목적으로 다음과 같은 과정에 의하여 연구하였다. 먼저, 리듬의 개념과 음악 교육에서 리듬 교육의 중요성을 밝히고, 아동기의 리듬 교육이 중요한 배경에 대하여 살펴보았다. 둘째, 아동기의 효과적인 리듬 지도를 위한 교수법으로 제안된 달크로즈의 음악 교육 철학과 달크로즈 유리드믹스의 개념 및 34가지의 리듬 요소를 살펴보고, 코레오그라피에 의한 유리드믹스 지도에 대하여 고찰하였다. 셋째, 일반 음악 교육 이전의 4~7세 아동기의 리듬감 발달을 위하여 발달 특성의 차이를 보이는 4~5세와 6~7세 연령의 리듬 · 신체 · 인지 발달에 대하여 알아보고, 각 연령의 발달에 적합한 리듬 요소를 선정하여 다양한 리듬 지도 방안을 제시하였다. 모든 예술과 생활에 내재되어 있는 리듬은 가장 먼저 발달하는 음악적 개념이며, 아동기의 리듬에 의한 음악적 활동은 다양한 감각적 경험과 활동을 제공하여 음악을 포함한 모든 예술 활동을 위한 토대가 되며 더 나아가 지각 발달과 올바른 정서와 인격 형성에도 영향을 준다. 아동기의 리듬 교육이 아동의 음악적 성취와 함께 모든 교육의 기초를 확립하는 중요한 역할을 한다는 점에서, 리듬과 신체와 인지 발달을 고려한 단계적인 리듬 지도 방법의 모색과 연구는 음악을 포함한 모든 교육적 측면에서 중요한 문제이다. 이러한 면에서, 음악을 흥미롭고 적극적인 다양한 방법으로 경험하고 신체를 통하여 표현하는 달크로즈 유리드믹스는 아동의 리듬감 발달을 위한 리듬 개념 학습에 효과적인 교수방법이라고 사료된다. 특히, 달크로즈 유리드믹스에 의한 모든 활동이 교사의 역량에 달려있다는 점에서, 교사는 아동들이 흥미를 가지고 적극적으로 참여할 수 있는 다양한 수업 재료와 지도 방안의 모색과 함께 달크로즈 유리드믹스의 교사로서 필요한 음악적 능력과 소양을 갖추기 위한 끊임없는 훈련과 노력이 요구된다.|The main idea of musical education in the twentieth century is that music must be educated. This shows that the musical education must not be made separately by a work of music, but by a method to enjoy the mental art activities from the various experiences in the musical learning process. Such idea arouses our interest in the methods from which the musical education should be made, and reminds us of some concerns about the teaching method by emphasizing upon the structural notions in the contemporary musical education. Especially rhythm, among the structural notions, is regarded as a starting point of the musical education because it is used without sound and melody in that it is inherent in the human life and all the arts. The sense of the rhythm is completed between 4 and 9 when the sense of hearing and the cognitive ability of rhythm make rapid progress. Therefore, the appropriate teaching method of music in childhood is important for children enough to determine their musical achievement afterwards. Particularly, children between 4 and 7 in preschool period are interested in the musical rhythm, and the movement through their bodies is dynamic, and their imagination and curiosity are very active. Such traits of theirs make it necessary to take such teaching methods as the various expressions through their body, and the stimulus of their interest and imagination. Accordingly, this thesis shows that the teaching method through Dalcroze Eurhythmics is the best effective one to develop children's sense of rhythm and their balanced body as well as their imagination. The development of rhythm of children between 4 and 7 through Dalcroze Eurhythmics is as following. First, this thesis defines the important of the rhythm training and pays attention to the essential background of the training in childhood. Second, this thesis examines about Dalcroze's educational principles which are suggested as an effective method of children's rhythm, and makes clear of the direction of Eurhythmics' education by Choreography. Third, this thesis looks into the physical and mental acquirement of rhythm of the age groups of 4 to 5, and 6 to 7 which show the difference of the sense of the rhythm, determines the appropriate element of rhythm fitted to the development of the individual age group, and observes the various methods for rhythm direction. The rhythm inherent in all the human lives and arts is a musical notion that is developed at first to all the humans. Therefore, the musical activity by rhythm in childhood is a basement of all the art activities. Furthermore the rhythm affects the correct emotion of children and the formation of their personality. In that the education of the rhythm in childhood plays an important role in all kinds of education with the musical achievement of children, the investigation and research on the educational method of rhythm by stages is important in all the educational aspects including music. In this aspect, Dalcroze Eurhythmics making children experience music through enthusiastic and various methods and expressing it with body is considered an effective method to the rhythm learning for children's development of rhythm. Especially, in that every activity by Dalcroze Eurhythmics depends on teachers ability, teachers are supposed to look for various teaching materials and teaching techniques to make the children interested and participate in the activity eagerly. And teachers should continue to train themselves and make much effort to meet their requisite of musical competence and knowledge.
