실상과 허상의 시지각적 인식으로 표출된 현대인의 심리표현 : 本人의 作品을 中心으로

Abstract

본 논문은 대학원 석사 학위 청구 논문으로 2001년에서 2002년 사이에 제작된 본인의 작품들을 대상으로 하여 작품의 전개 과정에서 표현하고자 했던 내용과 그 제작 과정에 대해 논한 것이다. 현대인은 지나친 사회 적응의 강요와 물질만능주의에 따른 인간 관계와 타인에 대한 지나친 동질성으로 인해 자아를 상실하고 , 이기심으로 인한 경쟁심 강화는 인간에 대한 적대심까지 낳게 했다. 이러한 요인들이 현실에서의 삶을 공허하고 무기력하게 만들며, 무의미한 목적의식과 불안한 현실의 삶을 살아가게 한다. 현실에서의 불안정한 삶은 가치에 혼돈을 주고 위기의식을 느끼게 한다. 본인은 현실에서 이러한 불안정한 심리를 실감했고 그러한 심리로부터 야기된 가치혼돈과 위기의식은 실상과 허상의 혼돈으로 인식되었다. 그러한 심리적 불안감의 시각적 표현으로 cutting(뚫기)과 folding(접기)을 통해 실상과 허상의 형상과 상황을 제시하였으며, 이로써 현대인의 심리를 표현 하고자 하였다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 내용을 주제로 한 작품들의 분석을 위하여 외부세계를 인식하는 지각중에서 시각을 통한 시지각에 대하여 알아보았고 ,시각적으로 혼돈 되는 대상과 특징을 그 이론적 근거를 통해 살펴보았다. 혼돈으로 인식된 현대인의 심리적 특징과 그 표현의 효과에 대하여 분석하였다. 현대인의 심리 표현방법으로 cutting과 folding을 통한 형상/배경, 존재/ 부재, 공간의 반전효과로써 시지각적으로 실상/ 허상을 재구성하여 실상과 허상이 그 어느 하나로 규정되지 않는 긴장감과 불안감의 근거임을 제시하였다. 본 논문을 통하여 본인의 표현 세계를 돌아보는 계기로 삼게 되었으며 ,앞으로의 작품 활동에 있어서 새로운 원동력이 되는데 그 의의를 갖고자한다.|This thesis, presented to obtain my masters degree, is based on the content I wanted to express during the development process of my works created between the year 2001 and 2002, and its making process. People of the modern era are losing their ego due to relationships based on material and excessive homogeneity caused by materialism, and strong compulsion in adapting to the society. Furthermore, strong competitive spirit caused by selfishness even generates hostility between people. These factors make our life futile and enervated, and lead to a purposefully meaningless and unsecure life. Unsecure life in this world creates confusion in value and a sense of crisis. I personally have experienced this unstable state of mind, and recognized the confusion in value and sense of crisis as a state of chaos between reaityl and un-reality. As a mean to visually express this sense of unstable mind, I used "cutting" and "folding" to express reality and un-reality, and thus to visually and spatially represent the modern people's state of mind. In this thesis, I have examined the perception of the outer world through vision, among other ways of perceiving the world, in order to analyze works based on this similar subject. Based on rational ground of perception, I scoped on objects and characteristics that visually confuse people. The relevancy that visually perceived confusion between reality and un-reality represents the modern people's state of mind was analyzed in comparison with the usefulness of "illusion" of visual artists. As a way of expressing the modern people's state of mind, the inversion of shape/background, existence/absence, and space represented through cutting and folding suggest that the repetitive visual reorganization of reality and un-reality is relevant to the basis of tension and unsecurity undefined neither as reality nor un-reality. Eventually, this thesis gave me a chance to look back at my method of expression, and has its meaning in that, it acted as a new powerful motive in propelling my future artistic activity.
