식물의 이미지를 소재로 한 반복적 행위의 내적표현 연구

Abstract

이 논문은 대학원 석사학위 청구 논문으로서 2009년부터 2011년 사이에 제작된 본인의 작품들을 내용적(內容的) 측면과 조형적(造形的) 측면에서 분석하고 고찰하였다. 인간은 자연 속에 존재하면서 동시에 자연을 변형하고 개조한다. 자연은 살아있는 다양성이요, 그 실체는 복잡 미묘하다. 작가는 작품을 제작하면서 다양한 자연의 형태를 새롭게 조명하기도 하고 보편적 사고와는 다른 인식을 가지고 재구성하기도 한다. 하지만 자연의 외적인 형태뿐만이 아니라 ‘반복적인 선긋기’ 라는 행위를 통하여 이미지를 새롭게 만들며 본인의 내면적 욕구도 함께 표현하고자 하였다. 선의 표현에서 반복적인 행위는 본인에게 카타르시스와 정서적인 안정을 주게 된 경험을 중점적으로 보고자 한다. 본 논문의 내용적 측면에서는 먼저, 자연과 인간이 가지는 공통적인 요소를 이해하며 반복적 행위가 본인의 내적욕구를 충족시킬 수 있는지에 대하여 논의한다. 또한 작품에 표현된 나뭇잎의 잎맥이나 나뭇가지의 이미지가 사람들과 소통의 대상으로서 어떠한 역할을 하는지에 대하여 알아보고자 한다. 다음으로, 조형적 측면에서는 ‘선 ’, ‘면의 결합’ , ‘확대와 변형’ 이라는 조형적 요소로 분류하여 연구하며 표현매체로서의 판화의 특성을 살펴보고자 한다. 마지막으로 작품 분석에서는 작품의 이미지들이 갖는 각각의 의미를 살펴보고 결론에서는 본 논문의 내용을 정리하고 본인의 작품 세계를 정리하였다. 본 논문은 대학원 수학과정 동안 갖게 된 정서적 경험을 바탕으로 표현된 작품들을 되돌아봄으로써 본인의 작품 세계를 점검해 보고 앞으로의 작업 전개에 새로운 시사점을 얻고자 한다.

|This master's thesis analyzes formative characteristics of art work produced in 2009 to 2011. Humans being, in nature, transform and recreate nature. The nature is the living diversity and its character is delicate and complicated. Workers reconstruct and shed new light on nature while observing it through new lenses and perspectives. This memory aims to explicate an internal desire to produce new images through not only the formation of nature but also 'lining repeatedly'. This paper focuses on expressions of lines which contributed to the experience that motivated my catharsis, as well as my emotional stability. The content of this paper, which includes understanding the elements in common between humans and nature, outlines ways in which my internal desire can become satisfied. I discuss Images of leaves and branches in my works as the means of communication with humans. Furthermore, through a narrative concerning the formative, and one which becomes grounded in discussions of 'lines', 'combination of the sides', and 'expansion and transformation', the paper includes discussions of the characteristics of prints. In the conclusion, I discuss meanings of the works, as well as my own works. This paper thus purports to review my works, and subsequently to suggest channels for future works, by reflecting on the already expressed works based on emotional expression during the graduate program.
