슈만(Robert Alexander Schumann)의Faschingsschwank aus Wien Op. 26에 관한 연구

Abstract

질서와 균형, 조화를 예술의 이상으로 삼았던 고전주의와 달리 19세기의 낭만주의 음악은 무엇보다도 자유와 환상, 그리고 주관성을 강조하고 추구했다. 이에 따라 피아노 음악에서도 자유로운 형식에 특정 분위기나 성격을 담아놓은 성격소품(character piece)이라는 새로운 장르가 나타나 크게 발전하게 된다. 슈만, 슈베르트, 멘델스존, 쇼팽, 브람스 등 많은 낭만주의 작곡가들이 다수의 성격소품을 남겼다. 그 중에서도 특히 슈만은 이 분야에서 문학적 요소를 더하여 낭만주의 피아노 음악을 한 단계 더 발전시킨 작곡가였다. 슈만의 성격소품은 그의 피아노 음악 가운데 큰 비중을 차지하고 있는데, 대부분 모음곡 형식으로 되어 있다. 슈만의 작품 중 상당히 외향적인 성격을 보여주는 「빈 사육제의 어릿광대」(Faschingsschwank aus Wien, Op.26)는 1838-1839년에 작곡되었으며 형식적으로나 양식적으로 슈만의 전형적인 작품이라 할 수 있다. 이 작품은 슈만이 빈(Wien)에서 체험한 사육제의 소란스럽고 유쾌한 분위기를 환상적으로 표현한 모음곡으로, 론도 형식의 알레그로(Allegro), 3부형식의 로만체(Romanze), 작은 론도 형식의 스케르치노(Scherzino), 3부형식의 인터메초(Intermezzo), 그리고 소나타 알레그로 형식의 피날레(Finale)의 다섯 성격소품으로 구성되어 있다. 슈만은 이 작품에서 주로 짧은 동기나 악구를 동형진행(Sequence) 시키거나 변형, 반복하여 선율을 구성하고 있다. 또한 다른 작곡가들의 선율이나 기존의 선율을 사용하기도 하는데, 예를 들면 5개음에 의한 하행 선율 진행인 ‘클라라 모토’(Motto von Clara), 독일 민요인「할아버지의 춤」, 프랑스 국가인「라 마르세에즈」(La Marseillaise)와 같은 선율을 차용하였다. 그는 또 당김음, 교차리듬, 부점리듬, 불규칙적인 액센트 등을 사용하여 다양한 리듬의 변화를 시도하였고, 7화음, 9화음, 빠르게 변화하는 반음계적 화성진행과 비화성음, 지속음(pedal point), 그리고 모호하고 빈번한 전조를 통해 화성적 색채감을 풍부하게 하였다. 「빈 사육제의 어릿광대」는 슈만의 피아노 음악에 나타나는 작곡 양식을 잘 보여주는 동시에 사육제의 축제적인 유쾌함과 그 특유의 서정성을 잘 표현한 뛰어난 성격소품의 대표적인 작품이라 할 수 있다.|Different from classicism that idealizes art to be organized, balanced and harmonized, romanticism in the 19th century pursues liberty, fantasy and subjectivity. New genre called character piece helped advancing piano music further. The character piece delivers specific sentiment or characteristic in liberated forms. The pioneers in the character piece include Schumann, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Chopin, and Brahms. Schumann further improves romanticism piano music by adding literature factors. Schumann's character piece heavily weight among his piano music. Majority of his character piece consists of suites. Faschingsschwank aus Wien, Op.26 that was showed quite external character had composed in 1838 ~ 1839 and evaluated a Schumann's typical work, in formal and in stylish. This work is a suite that Schumann experienced the carnival in Wien and expressed an air of cheerful in fantastically. And this is organized of 5 character work, Allegro of a rondo form, Romanze of 3 part form, Scherzino of small rondo form, Intermezzo of 3 part form, and a finale of sonata allegro form. Schumann composed a melody mostly with sequencing a short motive or a clause in this work. Besides he used a existing melody and another composer's. For instance, he used Motto von Clara that is progressing a going down melody by 5 tones and he used the Grossvatertanz that is a German fork song and he used La Marseillaise that is the French national anthem. Also he tried to change the various of rhythm by using a syncopation and by using a crossing rhythm, a dotted rhythm and by using an irregular accent, and enriched a harmonic color sensation by the 7th chord and the 9th chord and by a chromatic progression and by a pedal point and by a none harmonic melody that is changed rapidly. Faschingsschwank aus Wien, Op.26 is a representative work of a character piece that show a composition form of Schumann's piano music and represent a festive pleasure and the peculiar lyricism well.
