소설 교육 방법 연구 : 전형성 문제를 중심으로

Abstract

언어적 존재로서 인간의 삶을 어떻게 이끌어 나갈 것인가 하는 문제는 문학의 과제이며 동시에 교육의 과제라고 할 수 있다. 이에 치열하게 현실을 개척해나가는 현장을 적나라하게 형상화하고 있는 리얼리즘 작품은 인간의 삶 속에 존재하는 제 문제를 예술적으로 해명해 줌으로써 인간들에게 본질적 삶을 가능하게 하고 실천적 삶을 고민하도록 촉구한다. 소설에서 '전형'의 이해는 그를 위한 교육적 수단의 하나로서 의미를 가진다. 본고의 연구 목적은 인물과 상황의 전형성을 중심으로, 학습자로 하여금 소설작품에 대한 이해와 나아가 폭넓고 건강한 세계관 형성에 기여할 수 있는 소설 교육의 방법을 모색하는 것이다. 학습자는 주어진 텍스트의 전형적 상황과 전형적 인물에 대한 고민을 통해 작품의 당대적 의미를 현재의 의미로 환기하고, 나아가 학습자 자신의 의미로까지 승화시킬 수 있다. 이에 따라 2장에서는 전형의 개념과 그 교육적 가치를 고찰하고 적용의 방법을 모색하였다. 전형성을 중심으로 작품을 읽어나가는 방식은 작품 전체의 유기적인 구조도를 파악하는데 있어 중요한 안내판으로 작용할 수 있을 것이다. 적용의 구체적 방법은 상황의 전형성, 인물의 전형성, 가치 평가와 내면화로 구분하여 접근하였다. 이상의 항목들은 서로 긴밀한 연관성을 갖고 있기 때문에 기계적으로 범주화시키기에는 무리가 있지만, 분석의 용이함을 위해서 구분하여 접근하였다. 이를 바탕으로 3장에서는 소설교육에서 있어서 중요한 개념인 전형성 이해를 통한 인물 지도 방법을 황석영의 ＜삼포 가는 길＞에 적용하여 구체화시켰다. ＜삼포 가는 길＞은 우선 현재와 그리 멀리지 않은 과거인 1970년대를 배경으로 하고 있기 때문에 시대 상황에 대한 학습자의 공감을 이끌어 내기가 용이하다고 판단하였다. 또한 이 작품은 70년대 소설의 가장 대표적인 작품들 중의 하나라는 평가를 받고 있으며, 이 소설이 드러내는 소설적 세계가 리얼리즘에 입각한 전형을 많은 부분 구현하고 있다고 판단하였기 때문이다.|How we will lead human life as linguistic existence is not only the task of the literature but also the task of the education. The works of realism which shows frankly the actual spot exploited keenly enables the human to live a intrinsic life by elucidating artfully the problem in human life and promotes the human to be in anguish of a practical life. In novel, the understanding 'the typical' contains meaning as one of the educational means. The purpose of the report, placing an emphasis on the typical of the character and the situation, is to grope for the method of the education of novel which can contribute to learner's understanding the works of novel and forming a wide and sound outlook on the world. Learner can turn the meaning of the day into the meaning of the present and furthermore, sublimate till the meaning of learner's own self through the anguish of the typical situation and the typical character in the given text. In chapter two, the concept of the typical and the educational value of the typical are considered and the method of application is groped for. The method of reading works with the typical emphasized will be able to operate as an important guide to understanding an organic structure of the whole works. The method of the application is approached by dividing the typical of situation, the typical of character, and the evaluation and the appreciation of vale. Because above items are closely related to one another, it is difficult to make a category but they are approached for an easy analysis. In chapter three, the method of teaching character through the typical which is an important concept in the education of novel is concreted through applying to ＜삼포 가는 길＞ written by 황석영. Because ＜삼포 가는 길＞ shows the scene in the 1970s, which is not far away the present, it is easy for learner to understand the situation of the times. This works is evaluated as one of the most representative novels of the 1970s, and this novel reveals the typical based on the realism.
