성장과정에서 나타난 자아형성에 관한 표현 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 연구자 본인의 체험적 성장과정을 토대로 형성된 자아의 구체적 내용을 그림 언어로 쓴 일기이다. 연구자의 유년시절에 겪었던 생활 모습과 그 공간에 대한 기억이 본 연구의 기초가 된다. 연구자는 자아의 본질적인 특성을 알아가는 과정을 통해, 의식된 경험과 무의식의 세계가 분리된 것이 아님을 깨닫게 되었으며, 내면에 잠재되어 있던 다양한 생각들(부정적 or 긍정적)이 자아 형성에 깊은 영향을 미친다는 것을 인식하게 되었다. 본 논문에서 유년시절에 형성된 정체성은 숲(Forest)과 집(Home)에 투영되어 나타나고 있으며, 자아의 실제적인 경험을 바탕으로 이야기를 풀어나간다. 또한 연구자가 기억하고 있는 그 공간은 과거에 이미지와 동일시 떠오르기도 하지만, 때로는 과장과 축소를 통해 특정한 순간을 연구자만의 공간으로 재구성되기도 한다. 제 1 장에서는 본 연구는 크게 4 가지의 키워드로 구성된다. 연구자의 작품속에서 등장하는 숲(Forest), 문(Gate), 울타리(Fence), 불(Fire)은 단순한 자연적 요소를 넘어 연구자의 내면과 성장 과정을 탐구하는데 중요한 모티브로 작용한다. 작품에 표출되는 숲, 생물, 자연 등의 모습은 연구자를 둘러싼 환경과 삶에 대한 근원적인 문제 대해 관찰한 근거가 된다. 내면 깊숙하게 자리 잡고 있는 과거의 특정 사건이나 시간은 현재의 삶에 영향을 미치며, 그것은 현재까지도 내면에 남아있다. 제 2 장에서는 외부환경을 포함한 성장과정과 기억의 정신적 의미를 연관지어 설명하고, 그것이 현실 속에서 어떻게 재현되었는지에 대해서도 설명한다. 연구자의 어린 시절 거주했던 공간을 묘사하는 것을 넘어, 그 아래에 숨겨진 자아 정체성에 대한 본질적인 탐색에 집중한다. 제 3 장에서는 작품의 형식적 배경을 바탕으로 작품 제작 및 분석을 하였다. 아이디어 발상으로부터 스토리텔링, 디자인 등 직물 생산의 전체 공정에 대한 프로세스를 보여주고자 하였다. 동시에, 연구자가 살아오면서 느꼈던 감성은 연구자의 디자인 차별성의 근거하며, 대중의 정서와 공통적인 의미를 찾고자 하였다. 이는 소비자가 공감할 수 있는 디자인 상품 개발에 포커스를 맞추려는 의미적 시도였다. 디자인 근거의 확실성을 위해 스토리텔링을 기반으로 아이디어를 구상하고, 이를 바탕으로 한 드로잉을 통해 시각적 전개를 하고 있다. 또한 디지털 디자인 프로그램을 활용하여 이미지를 구체화 한다. 이러한 제작과정은 텍스타일 디자인의 예술적, 산업적 가능성을 동시에 확보하며, 디자인 상품으로서 경쟁력을 보여주는 사례가 된다.|This study is a visual diary that explores the researcher identity through the lens of personal childhood experiences and the environments in which they were shaped. It begins with the recognition that identity is not formed solely by conscious experiences but is deeply influenced by unconscious memories and internalized emotions both positive and negative. The key elements of identity in this study are symbolically projected onto the motifs of the forest and the home, spaces that represent both psychological and physical aspects of the self. The research is structured around four central motifs Forest, Gate, Fence, and Fire which go beyond their literal meanings to reflect the researcher's emotional landscape and psychological development. These elements are used as visual metaphors to reconstruct formative memories and to examine the inner world of the self. Chapter 1 introduces the conceptual foundation of the work, while Chapter 2 delves into the emotional and psychological significance of memory and the lived experience of growing up. Rather than simply documenting childhood spaces, the study investigates how these spaces act as symbolic sites for self-exploration and identity formation. Chapter 3 outlines the formal process of design production, from storytelling and motif development to digital visualization and final textile creation. Through this multi-step process, the study bridges fine art and design, proposing a textile practice that is both emotionally resonant and commercially viable. By transforming deeply personal memories into visual language, the research highlights the potential of textile design as a medium for emotional storytelling and public empathy.
