생명으로서의 꽃

Abstract

본 논문은 자연의 대상을 소재로 하여 석사과정 동안에 제작된 본인의 작업을 중심으로 작품의 내용과 이론적 근거를 분석하여 서술하였다. 인간은 자연과 함께 융화되기도 하고 한편으로는 분리되어 존재하기도 하면서 인류의 역사를 이루어왔다. 또한 자연의 모든 현상들은 무한한 가능성의 공간으로서 미의식을 지닌 인간에 의해 소재로 변형되기 시작했다. 꽃이라는 소재는 자연의 신비로운 질서와 조화를 지닌 존재로 인간의 미감을 끊임없이 자극한다. 꽃이 피고 지는 생성과 소멸의 과정은 자연의 순환을 가장 잘 반영하여주며, 인간의 삶과도 비유되어 예술의 소재로서 많은 관심의 대상이 되고 있다. 꽃은 자연현상 가운데서 그 색과 향기만으로도 완벽한 조화와 아름다움을 불러일으킨다. 꽃같이 아름다운 무엇이라는 말처럼, 예쁘고 화려하다는 것으로 지칭할 때, 꽃은 그 앞에 붙여 쓰이는 식의 은유적 표현으로도 자주 사용되고 있다. 이는 꽃이라는 소재가 지니고 있는 우아함, 화려하고 신비스러운, 생명의 영속성을 이미지로 갖고 있기 때문일 것이다. 본인은 꽃이 피고 지는 과정에서 볼 수 있는 다양한 형상들을 바탕으로, 자연의 순환에 대한 생명력으로서 꽃의 이미지를 작품에 표현하고자 하였다. 또한 꽃의 이미지를 시각적으로 집중할 수 있게 형태를 확대 변형시켜 간결하면서도 절제된 느낌으로 본인이 의도하는 바를 나타낼 수 있게 하였다. 작품은 자연의 생성과 소멸을 집약적으로 보여주는 꽃을 통하여 생명력을 강조하고자 이미지를 확대하고, 배경과의 극적인 명암대비를 통해 꽃만을 더 부각시켰다. 본 논문에서는 꽃이 지닌 상징적 이미지에 대해 살펴보고, 작품에 있어서 생명으로서 꽃의 의미에 대하여 서술하였다. 또한 부분 확대된 형태의 변형과 절제된 색채표현을 통해 본인의 작품을 심도 있게 살펴보았다. 이러한 본인의 작업에 대한 이론적 배경을 바탕으로 10점의 작품을 내용적·조형적으로 분석하여 앞으로의 작업방향에 밑거름이 되고자 하였다.|This paper analyzes and describes the contents of the writer’s work and its theoretical background of the work. Human beings have lived harmoniously with the nature or separately from the nature. All phenomenon of the nature has the beauties having the limitless potentials. Human beings changed them into subjects of their works. Flowers exist harmoniously with the nature. Flowers always stimulate the sense of beauty of human beings. The process of blooming and scattering of flowers well reflects the circulation of the nature. It is compared to the life of human beings becoming the subject of art. Flowers boast of its perfect harmony and beauty with its colors and smells. They compare something beautiful with flowers. When they say something pretty and luxurious, they use the word ‘flowers’. Flowers have the images of elegance, mysteriousness and eternal life. It tried to express the image of the flower as the power of life seeing the blooming and scattering of flowers. It expanded the shape of flowers to focus on their image and expressed the feeling of the writer briefly and moderately. This work expanded the image to emphasize the life power through the flowers that show the creation and death of nature. Through the contrast of light and darkness with the background, it strengthened the image of flowers. This paper studies the symbolic image of flowers and describes the meaning of flowers as life. It also studied the work of the writer in detail through the change of partially expanded shape and moderate color expression. It analyzed 10 works of the writer with theoretical background. It will be good foundation for future works.
