상징적 이미지로 표현된 인간의 심리 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 2005년부터 2009년까지 진행한 본인의 작품 속에서 인간의 모습을 어떻게 표현하였고, 변화 시켜 왔는지를 설명하고 2009년 6월에 있었던 제1회 개인전 ‘사과 같은 내 얼굴’에 전시되었던 작품을 중심으로 심리학적 시선과 내용적인 측면을 분석하고, 작품 속에 이미지가 가진 상징적인 측면을 설명하고자 하였다. 본인의 ‘사과 같은 내 얼굴’이라는 주제속의 작품들은 사과의 의인화를 통해 사회라는 공동체 안에서 드러나는 인간의 심리를 담고 있다. 인간은 외부적 환경이나 타인에 의해 내적인 불안을 경험하게 된다. 그래서 억압된 감정이 분노로 표출되거나, 자기고립상태로 빠지게 만든다. 이런 인간의 모습을 본인의 작품 속에서 우리 주변에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 과일인 사과와 인간의 얼굴에 있는 기관 중 하나인 입의 결합으로 초현실적인 이미지를 만들고자 하였다. 더 이상 사과가 가지고 있던 달콤하고, 맛있는 본래의 이미지는 사라지고, 기괴한 형상의 인간사과만이 존재하게 된다. 이렇게 의인화 된 사과를 통해 익숙함에서 낯설음으로 변화되는 상황으로 전환시켜 인간의 불안한 심리상태를 보여주고자 하였다. 인간의 어두운 모습을 화면 안에서 데페이즈망(Depaysement)기법과 색의 변환으로 새로운 이미지를 모색하였다. 본인이 경험한 인간의 다중성, 상처, 생경함 등을 바탕으로 작업을 하였다. 이것은 이 사회 에 속한 인간이라면 누구나 그 형태는 다르지만 경험하게 되는 부분이다. 인간의 삶 속에서 그림자처럼 존재하는 어두운 부분을 작업을 통해서 드러내고자 하였다. 본인은 우리가 살고 있는 이 시대 속의 구성원으로써 개인이나 타인의 모습 속에서 보여 지는 시대적인 풍경이 어떤 모습인지 의문을 갖고, 시작된 작품의 동기와 어떤 의도를 가지고, 작업을 하고 있는지 심리학적 시선과 작품의 내용을 분석하고, 작품 속에 이미지의 상징성이 무엇인지 밝히고자 하였다. 또한 인간의 모습을 어떻게 표현해야 하는지 연구하고, 다른 작가들은 인간을 작품 속에 어떻게 담아내고 있는지 분석하여 본인이 추구하는 방향과 표현 방식을 논하고자 하였다.|This document presents the way human images were expressed and how they have changed in my paintings from 2005 to 2009. It was also analyzed the psychological background, the contents and the symbols in my paintings at the solo exhibition, 'My Face Like An apple' held in June, 2009 The paintings in 'My Face Like An Apple' contained the mental states of humans revealed in modern society or community personified on an apple. Humans can feel uncomfortable and uneasy because of external factors or other people, and they get isolated or angry because of feelings of being heavily burdened, either mentally or physically. These paintings were intended to be surrealistic by putting an apple, easily found everywhere, together with a mouth, the part of the human body. The sweet, delicious image of an apple disappeared and the bizarre image of a human took its place. With personification as an apple, the paintings represented the unstable, unrestful condition of humans by changing a familiar image to an unfamiliar one. The dark side of humans was illuminated on a screen by depaysement and color changes. It was also exposed like a shadow existing in human life. This work was based on multiple personality, wounds and unfamiliarity I experienced from people. Everyone in society has felt these feelings sometimes. I think we all live currently as members of society and I painted with wonders what our society looks like from my and other's viewpoint, and try to show my intention by analyzing the psychological background, the contents, and the symbol images in my pictures. Meanwhile, I expressed my direction in my pictures by researching and analyzing other artists thought for what human looks.
