뿌리이미지를 통한 자아의 심상표현 연구 : 염색 작품을 중심으로

Abstract

인간의 삶의 터전인 자연(自然)은 인간의 예술 활동에 근본이 되어 수많은 예술가들의 표현대상이 되어왔다. 자연이 보여주는 질서·절도·비례의 미적 양상은 예술작품에 많은 영향을 주었다. 그 이후 인간은 단지 자연의 모방뿐만 아니라, 그 원리와 법칙을 탐구하며 미의 소재를 찾았다. 예술을 표현한다는 것은 자연에 내재된 이미지를 작가 내면에 와 닿는 심상적인 의미로 표출하는 행위이며, 조형적인 창작 활동에 다양한 소재로 작가의 주관적인 이해와 해석을 통해 내면세계 뿐만 아니라 감정세계로 표현함을 뜻한다. 이러한 의미에서 자연의 일부인 뿌리를 통해 인간의 근본과 근원적 내면세계를 전달하는 상징적 의미로 표현하고자 하였다. 나무를 지탱하는 뿌리는 땅속에 숨겨진 근원적인 힘으로 지표상의 식물이 번성할 수 있도록 축이 되는 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 이러한 역할을 통해 생명의 강인함과 아름다움을 느낄 수 있었으며, 끊임없는 조연의 역할을 통해 자아를 되돌아 볼 수 있었다. 본인은 뿌리의 형태를 주관적인 감성으로 재구성하여 자연의 질서와 조화, 신비한 생명성을 ?갱痔徘걋막? 표현하였다. 지속적인 생명성의 결과적 산물인 꽃과 나뭇잎을 통해 생성과 소멸이라는 이중적 구조를 나타내고자 하였다. 그리고 생명의 강인함과 아름다움의 이미지를 내포한 뿌리를 조망하고 깨달음을 통해 생명에 대한 경외심을 갖게 되었고, 삶을 되돌아 볼 수 있는 계기가 되었다.|Nature, the grounds of human life, has been a source of human arts and object of expression for most of artists. The esthetic aspect of cosmos, moderation and proportion in nature affected many works of art very much. Thereafter, human beings has searched subject matters of beauty by investigation of natural principles and rules as well as imitation of nature. The expression of arts is a behavior to convert natural images into imagery meanings and that means, in the formative creation, the artist does not express only inner world, but also emotional world through his subjective understanding and interpretation with various subject matters. According to such a reason, the root which is a part of nature could represent the symbolistic meaning to communicate the inner world of human origin. The root supporting a whole tree is the origin of power hidden under the earth, and it performs an important role as a basis for the flourishing of surface plant. Such a role of root makes us feel the strength and beauty of the vitality of root and introspect ourselves. In this work, the form of root is re-organized by subjective sensibility and expressed into dyed works with the cosmos, harmony and mysterious vitality of nature. The dualistic structure of creation and destruction is also expressed through the flowers and leaves which are consequent products of constant vitality. This process to prospect the root with image of the strong and beautiful vitality inspired us with the wonder of vitality and the opportunity to introspect human life.
