분열형 인격 성향을 가진 여자 대학생의 공간 작업 기억 결함에 관한 사건관련전위 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 정신분열병 환자군에서 관찰되는 공간 작업 기억 결함이 정신분열병 고위험군인 분열형 인격 성향군에서도 관찰되는지 알아보고자 하였다. 분열형 인격 성향군(n=15)과 정상통제군(n=16)의 공간 작업 기억 능력을 수정한 Sternberg 과제와 사건관련전위를 사용하여 조사하였다. 수정한 Sternberg 과제는 두 가지 조건, 즉 파지(제시되는 자극의 위치를 단순히 기억하는 조건)와 조작(제시되는 자극의 위치를 지시에 따라 조작하여 기억하는 조건)조건으로 구성되었다. 파지 조건에서는 피험자에게 제시된 자극이 추후에 제시되는 자극과 일치하는지를 반응하는 것이 요구되었고, 조작 조건에서는 제시된 자극을 지시에 따라 조작한 후에 그 조작한 자극이 추후에 제시되는 자극과 일치하는지를 반응하는 것이 요구되었다. 수정한 Sternberg 과제에서의 반응 시간의 경우, 두 집단 모두 파지 조건에 비해 조작 조건에서 유의하게 긴 반응 시간을 보였으며, 정상통제군에 비해 분열형 인격 성향군이 유의하게 긴 반응 시간을 보였다. 반응 정확률의 경우, 정상통제군과 분열형 인격 성향군이 파지 조건에서는 유의한 차이를 보이지 않은 반면, 조작 조건에서는 정상통제군에 비해 분열형 인격 성향군이 유의하게 낮은 반응 정확률을 보였다. 사건관련전위의 경우, P200 진폭에서는 정상통제군과 분열형 인격 성향군이 두 실험 조건에서 서로 상이한 결과를 보였다. 즉 파지 조건에서는 정상통제군과 분열형 인격 성향군 사이에 유의한 P200 진폭 차이가 관찰되지 않은 반면, 조작 조건에서는 분열형 인격 성향군이 정상통제군에 비해 유의하게 증가된 P200 진폭을 보였다. P400의 진폭은 조작 조건에서만 관찰되었으며, 두 집단 간의 유의한 차이가 관찰되지 않았다. 이에 덧붙여서 NSW의 진폭에서도 두 집단 간의 유의한 차이가 관찰되지 않았다. P200이 공간 작업 기억의 과제 수행과 관련한 집행적 처리 과정을 반영하는 것으로 알려져 있고, 생성지가 배외측 전전두엽 및 전전두 피질이라고 알려져 있기 때문에 본 연구 결과는 분열형 인격 성향군이 공간 작업 기억의 집행적 처리 기능 혹은 공간 작업 기억이 저하되어 있으며 이러한 저하가 배외측 전전두엽 및 전전두 피질의 기능적 이상 혹은 비효율성과 관련되어 있음을 시사한다. |This study investigated deficits spatial working memory in female college students with schizotypal traits using a modified Sternberg task and event-related potentials(ERPs). The schizotypal trait(n=15) and normal control(n=16) groups were determined based on the scores of Schizotypal Personality Questionnaire. The modified Sternberg task consisted of two conditions, i.e., maintenance and manipulation conditions. For maintenance condition, participants were asked to judge whether the locations between present and previously presented stimuli were same or not. And for manipulation condition, participants were asked to manipulate the location of presented stimulus based on the instructions, and to judge whether the location of present stimulus was consistent with that of manipulated by themselves. In terms of response time(RT) for modified Sternberg task, both groups showed significantly faster RT in maintenance than manipulation conditions. Schizotypal trait group showed significantly longer RT than did the control group. In terms of accuracy rate, both groups did not significantly differ in maintenance condition, whereas in manipulation condition schizotypal trait group showed significantly lower accuracy rate than did control group . In terms of ERP results, greater P200 amplitude was elicited in manipulation condition compared with maintenance condition. Both group did not significantly differ in P200 amplitudes in maintenance condition, whereas, the schizotypal trait group showed significantly greater P200 amplitude than did control group in manipulation condition. The two groups did not significantly differ either in P400 or NSW amplitudes. The P200 is considered to reflect the executive aspects of spatial working memory and the neural generator of the P200 is known to be dorsal lateral prefrontal cortex(DLPFC) or prefrontal cortex(PFC). These results indicate that individuals with schizotypal trait have impaired spatial working memory, which may be associated with DLPFC or PFC dysfunctions.
