북한이탈주민의 남한사회 적응에 관한 연구

Abstract

이 연구의 목적은 북한이탈주민의 성격특성과 현실대처 태도 그리고 그들의 주변에서 제공되는 사회지지체계가 북한이탈주민의 적응과 어떠한 관련성이 있는지를 알아보기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 북한이탈주민 129명을 대상으로 정신건강, 자아가치관(self concept), 삶의 만족도, 성격, 현실대처 태도, 사회지지체계에 대하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과에서 1) 자아강도(Ego strength), 도덕성(Super ego), 대담성(Boldness), 자기통제(Self control)의 성격특성이 북한이탈주민의 남한사회 적응 및 정신건강과 정적 상관관계를 갖는 것으로 나타났고 2) 조급성, 책임감, 현실인식의 현실대처태도가 북한이탈주민의 남한사회 적응 및 정신건강과 유의미한 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났으며 3) 북한이탈주민에게 제공되는 사회지지체계 또한 북한이탈주민의 남한사회 적응 및 정신건강과 상관관계를 갖는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 마지막으로 4)북한이탈주민의 성격특징 중에서 자아강도 요인과 태도 중에서 책임감 요인 그리고 사회지지체계가 북한이탈주민의 적응 및 정신건강에 주요한 영향을 미치는 요인인 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 북한이탈주민 개인이 가지고 있는 심리적 특성(성격과 태도)과 사회지지체계에 따라 남한사회 적응이 영향을 받는다는 것을 보여주었고 이에 따른 구체적인 인과관계를 규명하였다는 데에 의의가 있다.|This study examined how the personality characteristics and the coping attitudes of the North Korean refugees and the social support system surrounding them, associate their adjustment in South Korea. Questionnaires were collected from 129 North Korean refugees to find out about their mental health, self-concept, satisfaction with life, personality, coping attitude, and social support system. The study found that 1) among the personality factors, ego strength, super ego, boldness, and the degree of self-control significantly associated the North Korean refugees' mental health and their adjustment to the South Korean society. 2) among the coping attitudes, impetuosity, responsibility, and perception of reality significantly associated the North Korean refugees' mental health and their adjustment to the South Korean society. 3) the social support system surrounding the North Korean refugees also significantly associated their adjustment and mental health. In addition, among the personality factors, the strength of ego strength, among the coping attitudes, responsibility and the social support system surrounding the North Korean refugees influenced the North Korean refugees' mental health and their adjustment to the South Korean society. The results of the study demonstrated that the psychological traits (personality and attitude) of individual North Korean refugees influenced each person's adjustment to the South Korean society, and consequently, pointed to the existence of a specific causal relationship.
