부부의 성만족과 결혼만족의 관계

Abstract

본 연구에서는 부부를 대상으로 성만족과 결혼만족의 관계를 분석하고 친밀감과 자아존중감이 성만족과 결혼만족의 관계를 매개한다는 가정을 검증해 보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 서울·경기, 울산 지역에 거주하는 부부 106쌍으로 성만족 척도, 부부 친밀감 척도, 자아존중감 척도, 결혼만족 척도를 사용하여 설문을 실시하였다. 설문을 통해 수집된 자료는 남녀의 성차를 확인하기 위해 집단을 구분하여 t검증, 상관분석, 위계적 중다회귀분석을 사용하여 분석하였다. 또한, 성만족과 결혼만족의 관계에서 친밀감과 자아존중감의 매개효과를 검증하기 위해 Baron과 Kenny(1986)의 매개효과 검증절차를 실시하였고 매개효과의 유의성 검증을 위해 Sobel's Z-Test를 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성만족, 친밀감, 자아존중감, 결혼만족 간의 상관을 분석해 본 결과, 모든 변인에서 유의한 정적상관을 관찰할 수 있었다. 성만족과 결혼만족의 상관에서 집단 간의 차이가 있는지를 검증하기 위해 Fisher's Z-Test를 실시한 결과, 두 집단의 상관계수 간에 통계적으로 유의한 차이는 관찰되지 않았다. 둘째, 성만족이 결혼만족에 미치는 영향에 대한 친밀감의 매개효과를 분석해 본 결과, 친밀감이 성만족과 결혼만족의 관계를 완전 매개하였다. 남편과 아내집단에서도 친밀감의 완전 매개효과가 관찰되었으며, 두 집단에서 매개효과의 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 성만족이 결혼만족에 미치는 영향에 대한 자아존중감의 매개효과를 검증해 본 결과, 자아존중감이 성만족과 결혼만족을 부분적으로 매개하는 것으로 관찰되었다. 남편과 아내집단의 매개효과에서의 차이를 살펴본 결과, 성만족과 결혼만족간의 관계에서 자아존중감의 매개효과는 남편집단에서 더 큰 설명력을 가진다고 나타났다. 끝으로, 본 연구의 의의 및 제한점과 향후 연구방향을 논의하였다.|This study investigated the relationship between sexual satisfaction and marital satisfaction and tested the hypothesis that intimacy and self-esteem mediate the association between sexual satisfaction and marital satisfaction. Participants were 106 married couples aged 20 to over 50 years. Couples were asked to complete a questionnaire on sexual satisfaction, marital satisfaction, intimacy, and self-esteem. Results indicated that correlational analysis revealed significant positive correlation between sexual satisfaction and marital satisfaction but there was no significant gender difference. The hierarchical multiple regression analysis showed that the mediating effect of intimacy was significant in the relation between sexual satisfaction and marital satisfaction and there was a slight gender difference in the mediating effect. In the case of self-esteem, it partially mediated the association between sexual satisfaction and marital satisfaction and the mediating effect was greater in the male group. The findings of this study have implications for marriage counseling practice with Korean people. Because Korean couples tend to avoid discussing sexual problems in the marriage, there needs to be an emphasis on the importance of sexual life in achieving better marital functioning.
