변수 개념의 학습지도 연구 = 제 7차 교육과정 7단계를 중심으로

Abstract

변수는 단일하게 개념이 정의되는 것이 아니라 다양한 개념을 가지고 있다. 표층에서는 자리지기의 모습으로 보여지나 심층에서는 다가이름과 변하는 대상으로 두 가지의 의미를 가지고 있다. 그러나 학교 수학에서의 변수는 다양한 의미가 가려진 채 변수를 형식적 조작의 대상으로 다룸으로써 변수의 다차원적인 의미를 제대로 제시하고 있지 못하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 변수 개념 지도를 위한 방법을 모색해 보기 위하여 연구하였다. 먼저 변수의 표현 수단인 문자에 대한 이해를 위하여 문자의 사용 목적과 문자의 성질, 문자 사용의 위계적 단계를 살펴보았으며, 변수 개념 지도에 앞서 변수 개념의 역사적 발달과 변수 사용의 제측면, 인지적 장애유형과 변수개념의 학습수준과 변수의 보조정의를 살펴보았다. 또한 제 7차 교육과정 중 7-단계 교과서를 문자사용의 위계적 단계와 변수의 보조정의에 대하여 분석하여 학교 수학이 변수개념을 어떻게 다루고 있는지 조사하고 문제점을 제시하였다.|Variable cannot be defined as one concept, rather it is a variety of concepts. On the surface, it seems to work as a place holder, but if we look into it's deeper structure, it has two concepts; one is a "polyvalent name", the other is a "variable object". In schools, variables are only dealt with as the subject of an operation, while its variety of other concepts are not revealed. Because of that, its multi-dimensional meaning is not clearly shown. This study is to show ways of teaching the concept of variable . At first, we considered the purpose of using letters, characteristics of letters and steps of using variables in order to help the students to understand its concept as an expression. Before teaching the concept of variable, we studied the historical background of its concepts, other aspects in the complex concepts of a variable, the cognitive obstacles pattern, study levels of variable concepts and the assistant definition. In addition, we analyzed the assistant definition of variables and the steps of using letters with a 7-step middle school textbook which is based on the 7th revision of the mathematics curriculum. Through this analysis, we found how the variable is dealt with in the textbook and attempt to suggest any problems.
