모성(母性)에 관한 형태표현연구

Abstract

예술가는 자신의 직, 간접적 경험을 조형적인 언어를 통해 표현하고 그 표현된 작품은 인간에게 다양한 감성을 불어넣어 자극을 주는 역할을 한다. 또한 인간은 그 자극을 통해 끊임없이 소통하고 발전해 가고 있다. 본인의 작품은 여성으로서 임신과 출산을 통해 경험한 생명과 모성에 대한 깊이 있는 시각이 조형적인 언어로 표출되었다. 임신으로 인하여 한 몸에 자리한 새로운 생명의 경외감은 이후 육아의 과정을 통해서 모성으로서의 본능을 강하게 느끼게 했고 이러한 시각은 작품으로 드러나게 되었다. 모성에 대한 심상은 여성의 신체를 통하여 유기체적인 형상으로 표현되었으며 실제 신체의 모습을 직접적으로 표현하기보다 본인의 시각으로 단순화시키고 은유적으로 표현하였다. 본인 작품의 주제와 소재는 석재라는 재료를 통하여 돌의 덩어리감과 무게감, 세부묘사 등으로 그 느낌을 표현하고 있다. 본인은 이러한 모성에의 심상이 작품화되는 과정을 현대작가들의 작품과 본인 작품의 형태적인 분석을 통해 고찰해 보고 앞으로의 조형적인 표현방법에 대해 연구하는 계기로 삼고자 한다. 본 논문은 본인의 작품을 중심으로 주제설정의 배경과 형태의 연구 및 개별 작품의 분석 등 총 3장으로 구성되어져 있다. 제1장 서론에서는 개인적 경험을 통한 주제설정에의 견해로 모 성이 작품으로 의미를 갖게 되었음을 서술하고 본 논문의 연구목적, 연구 방향을 제시하였다. 제2장 본론 1장에서는 모성의 의미에 대해 고찰해 보고 문헌을 통해 시대적으로 나타나는 모성과 그 표현에 대해 서술하였다. 또한 헨리무어(Henry Moore 1898~1986)와 루이스 부르주아(Louise Bourgeois 1911~ )의 작품으로 현조각사에서 모성을 표현하는 사례를 들어 설명하였다. 2장에서는 본인작품의 표현방식을 형태적 근거를 통해 분석하였다. 마지막으로 석사청구전의 작품을 중심으로 표현방법에 대해 분석하였다. 제3장 결론에서는 본문의 내용을 요약·정리하고, 본인의 작품세계와 앞으로의 작업방향을 제시하였다.|Artist expresses his direct and indirect experience through sculptural language as well as plays the role to have the human beings inspired by his work, so that they can communicate each other and develop themselves continuously. My work can be understood as an interpretation on the birth and maternity after pregnancy and delivery of my daughter. I've got a feeling of awe after being pregnant and this feeling was transformed into maternity with bring up her. Over this time, I was able to carve my strong maternal instinct into my work. Emotion for the maternity has been represented as organic shapes through female's body and I've interpreted these with my own point of view metaphorically. In addition, subject of my work is 'Stone' and I have expressed the touch of lump, weight and minute description with this material. I'm eager to study the method of sculptural expression through this research on the modern artists and my own works. This thesis consists of three main chapters. In chapter one, I have showed the reason why I'd like to describe maternity in my works and the theme and direction of my study. In chapter two, I've explained the history of maternity in the art's literatures and the detailed methods of respective era for the expression of maternity. Moreover, I have found two examples of these through the works of Henry Moore and Louise Bourgeois. In addition, in this chapter I've analyzed my expression method based on the morphologic construction, and this formula has been applied to my own works as well. In chapter three, I've summarized what I've written in this thesis and what I'd like to do in my career as a sculptor.
