매재실험을 통한 현대채색화 표현연구 : 本人의 作品을 中心으로

Abstract

예술은 인간의 감각과 새로운 소재에 대한 실험 및 자유로운 독자적 양식으로 모든 예술가는 자신이 구상하고 있는 바와 그것을 이루기 위한 표현방법을 적절하게 조화시키는 방법을 모색해 왔으며 많은 예술가들이 새로운 재료에 관심을 가지고 다양한 방식으로 실험하여 그 결과를 작품에 반영하여 왔다. 채색화는 이념탐구와 조형의식을 올바르게 수용하려는 움직임이 공존하고 있는 오늘의 현실 상황 속에서 변화하는 새로운 시대상을 반영하면서 채색이라는 재료적 특성으로 말미암아 다양한 재료 실험들이 동시에 진행되어 왔으며 다양한 매재들을 전통 채색과 혼합하여 사용하는 일련의 경향들은 전통회화의 현대화라는 절대 명제와 맞물려 일정한 흐름을 형성하며 활발히 전개되고 있다. 이에 연구자는 전통적 재료들에 대한 매재실험에 관심을 가지고 새로운 조형질서와 양식을 추구하고자 장지(壯紙)라는 재료가 지니고 있는 물성 자체를 조형의 바탕으로 삼아 전통적인 장지채색기법과 콩기름기법이 갖는 특성을 이용하여 실크스크린이라는 이질의 재료와 혼용을 시도함으로써 실험적 기법을 모색하여 표현 영역을 확장시키고자 하였으며 가족이라는 관계 속에 내재(內在)된 실존(實存)을 현대적인 시각으로 재해석하고 조형성을 효과적으로 표현하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 채색화의 전개과정과 현대채색화의 새로운 움직임들에 대해 살펴보았고 전통적인 매재에 대한 새로운 인식과 그것의 방법적인 모색 즉, 다양한 매재실험을 통한 표현 방법은 연구자의 작품을 통해 접근하였다. 이러한 연구는 현대미술 속에서 침체되어가고 있는 한국의 채색화의 상황에서 이를 극복하고 더욱 긍정적이고 발전적인 방향으로의 전환을 위한 과정이라 생각하며 정체성을 확립하고 변화하는 시대상을 반영하는 새로운 전통관을 만들어 앞으로의 작업방향을 설정하고 연구하고자 한다.|Art is the experiment and individual mode in human sensibility and new materials. Because of that, every artists have been trying to find a way to express what they are thinking. In addition, they have always been interested in new materials and the way to reflect them in the art. In the time that occurs movement of accepting the formative art and pursuit of ideal in the same time, a colored picture is representing our flexible phases of the time. Moreover, various experiments has been tested on colored pictures which have a material characteristic as 'colored'. New tendencies which various kinds of material are combined with traditional color make a new flow. This flow is developing meeting the need of refreshment in traditional painting. To pursue a new formative system and mode, I tried silk-screen method mixing the traditional Jang-Jee coloring method and bean oil method based upon the characteristics of Jang-Jee as a material. It comes from my interest in material experience. I wanted to explore new ways in expression from this trial, and also interpretate the existence in the family relationship in modern perspective and describe formative element. This study showed the process of colored painting and new movement of modern colored painting. In addition, I have looked into expressive method from various material experience which is new recognition about material and methodical finding in my works. I think that this study will be the process of conversion of depressed Korean colored painting under the shadow of modern art into affirmatively. I want it to establish identity and reflect the phases of time. In addition, I would say that it will help make new working style in colored painting establishing new tradition with the phases of time.
