라흐마니노프의《피아노와 첼로를 위한 소나타 g단조, Op.19》분석 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 라흐마니노프(Sergei Rachmaninoff, 1873-1943)의《피아노와 첼로를 위한 소나타 g단조, Op.19》(Sonata for Piano and Cello in g minor, Op.19)에서 피아노가 지배적인 역할을 한다는 것에 착안하여 라흐마니노프의 일반적인 피아노 작품의 특징과 이 소나타에 나타난 두 악기의 관계를 분석한 것이다. 라흐마니노프의《피아노와 첼로를 위한 소나타 g단조, Op.19》는 그의 창작능력이 최고조에 이르렀을 때 작곡한《피아노 협주곡 제2번》(Piano Concerto No.2 in c minor, Op.18) 이후 1901년에 씌여진 곡이다. 그의 유일한 첼로소나타인 이 작품은 제목에서 볼 수 있듯이 피아노의 비중과 역할이 큰 작품으로, 제1악장과 제2악장에서 카덴짜를 연상시키는 피아노 독주부분이 나타나는 것이 특징이다. 또한 제3악장에서 피아노는 먼저 주제를 제시함으로써 곡의 진행을 이끌어 나가고 제4악장에서는 폭넓은 화성으로 첼로와 함께 선율을 노래하며 풍부한 음향적 효과를 낸다.《피아노와 첼로를 위한 소나타 g단조, Op.19》에서 피아노는 전체적으로 두터운 화성, 반음계적 진행, 다양한 전조, 급격한 셈여림의 변화 등 라흐마니노프의 음악적 특징이 잘 나타나있다. 본 논문에서는 라흐마니노프의 생애와 주요작품을 시기별 구분과 함께 각 시기에 속하는 음악적 특징을 알아보고 라흐마니노프가 작곡한 다양한 장르의 작품 중에서 피아노 작품을 살펴본다. 또한 라흐마니노프의 작곡기법을 화성, 리듬, 선율로 나누어 고찰하고《피아노와 첼로를 위한 소나타 g단조, Op.19》의 각 악장의 전체적인 형식과 구성을 살펴본 후, 피아노에 나타난 특징을 중심으로 피아노와 첼로의 역할 관계를 분석한다.|This paper studied the general characteristics of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s (1873-1943) piano pieces and the relation of the two instruments in the sonata on the attention that in《Sonata for Piano and Cello in g minor, Op.19》the piano plays a dominant role. Rachmaninoff’s《Sonata for Piano and Cello in g minor, Op.19》was composed in 1901, after he wrote《Piano Concerto No.2 in c minor, Op.18》at the peak of his composing. As can be seen in the title, Rachmaninoff’s only cello sonata is a piece that has a great piano proportion and role. Particularly the piano solo in the first and second movement which reminds of a cadenza is a large feature. In addition, the piano in the third movement suggests and leads the theme of the song and in the fourth movement plays the melody with the cello with a wide range of chords to create an exuberant sound effect. Overall in《Sonata for Cello and Piano in g minor, Op.19》the piano shows closely bounded chords, chromatic progression, various preludes, sudden changes in dynamic marks and moreto show Rachmaninoff’s musical characteristics. This paper will categorize Rachmaninoff’s life and works by periods, look into the musical features of each periods and his piano pieces from various genres to study . Furthermore, study Rachmaninoff’s composing techniques by chord, rhythm, melody and the overall structure and form of each movement in《Sonata for Piano and Cello in g minor, Op.19》to analyze the a part relation of the piano and cello focusing on the characteristics of the piano.
