드로잉을 통한 서사의 시각화 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 2007년부터 2009년 사이에 제작된 작품들을 중심으로 드로잉으로 나타난 서사의 시각화에 관한 연구로서 본인의 2009년 영토적 풍경관한 주제의 전시를 바탕으로 작업(회화와 드로잉)과 그에 관련된 단편을 효과적으로 전달하기위해 연구되었다. 영토적 풍경에서 영토의 개념은 <천개의 고원>(들뢰즈.가타리의 저서)에서 영향을 받았다. 영토는 하나의 장소로서 배치로 인해 공간이 내부와 외부로 갈라지고 특정한 의미를 갖는데 이는 외부를 배척하고 내부를 동일화하는 방식으로 이루어진다. 공간의 특정한 배치로 내부적 영토성을 확보하는 것이다. 또한 공간의 배치와 모티프간의 리듬을 형성하여 영토화를 가져온다고 소개하고 있는데 하나의 영역을 확보하기위해 집단적 가치를 가진 이미지들을 반복적으로 배치하고 여러 모티프들 간의 움직임을 통해 하나의 사건으로 이어지는 움직임을 계열화 시켰다. 이러한 반복되고 계열화된 움직임을 효과적인 방법을 통해 시각적으로 전달될 수 있도록 시간, 공간의 배치를 등질화 시키고 이러한 조건 속에서 주기적 반복을 통해 의미를 생성하고 공간의 배치와 배열의 끊임없이 변주되는 상황을 그림과 글로 옮겨 놓았다. 본인의 작업에서 풍경이란 실제세계에 존재하는 풍경을 담아낸 것이 아니라 평소에 짧은 단상을 드로잉이나 글로 담아놓는데, 본인이 제시한 이미지는 무의식적인 상황을 담고 있기에 경험을 통한 심리적인 것의 형상화한 작업이다. 추상적인 형상을 드러내고 묘사하기 위해서 언어의 도움을 받아 실제의 사물인식(본인의 심리)에 가까운 지각과 행동을 작품 안에서 보여준다. 작품안의 공간에 초대하면서 그림과 글을 중개하는 방식을 취했다. 시각예술에서 있어서 서사의 개념은 시간과 공간을 담아내어 등장인물의 행위, 감정상태, 상황의 묘사라고 할 것이다. 전체적으로 이 논문은 서사와 시각예술의 관계를 조명하고 회화작업을 위주로 서사를 전달하는 여러 방법론을 조사하였다. 서로 어떠한 영향을 주고받았는지 통합적으로 연구하였고 그 구체적 양상을 검토했다. 이를 바탕으로 드로잉을 기반으로 한 회화작업과 그와 관련된 짧은 단편을 소개하고 해석하여 소통의 가능성을 넓히는 기회를 가질 것이다.|This study, a research on the visualization of narration depicted with drawing with emphasis on the author's works produced between 2007 and 2009, was intended to effectively deliver pieces related to painting and drawing works based on the author's exhibition on the subject of territorial scenery of 2009. The concept of territory in territorial scenery was inspired from <A Thousand Plateaus> written by Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari. A territory, which is identified as a place with defined boundary inside and out, has the nature of homogenizing inside and excluding outside. Securement of internal space is done through particular arrangement of space. Specifically territory is established through arrangement of space, formation of rhythm and repetitive deployment of images among motifs followed by alignment of a series of motions occurring from one incident. In order for such repetitive and serialized motions to be delivered visually in effective manner, arrangements of time and space were homogenized, and meanings were produced through periodic repetition of such condition, whose ceaselessly transforming arrangements of space were then put in figures and writing. The word scenery in the author's works does not refer to a landscape existing in real world, but indicates short image formed out of an unconscious psychological situation that the author captured in drawing or in writing through the daily life. In order to disclose and depict abstract image, the perceived and recognized actual objects were presented in the work with the help of language in a manner of introducing figure and descriptions by drawing the audience into the work. In visual art, narration may be defined as the depiction of character's behavior, emotional condition and situation in time and space. Overall, this study shed light on the correlation of narration and visual art, and surveyed on various methodologies of delivering narration with focus on painting work. This study integratively researched on whether mutual influences were made and how the influences occurred specifically. On such basis, drawing based painting works and relevant short pieces will be introduced and opportunity of interpretation and communication will be given.
