唐代 《枕中記》 硏究

Abstract

本槁는 唐代 傳奇小說인 沈旣濟의 ≪枕中記≫에 관한 硏究論文이다. ≪枕中記≫의 작가 沈旣濟는 唐 德宗 建中元年(780) 전후에 살았던 인물로서, ≪枕中記≫는 그가 楊炎에게 연루되어 處州司戶參軍으로 좌천되었을 때 쓴 것으로 보인다. ≪枕中記≫는 失意한 書生인 盧生이 한 道士가 빌려준 베개를 통해 꿈속으로 들어가게 되고, 꿈속에서 관리사회의 온갖 榮辱과 富貴榮華를 경험한 후 꿈에서 깨어나 인생의 덧없음을 깨닫게 된다는 내용으로, 이는 唐代 사회에 만연되어 있던 出世至上主義의 風潮와 官吏社會 의 어두운 면을 반영하고 있으며, 당시 관직의 추구에 대한 가치를 부정하고 있다. 本槁의 연구 목적은 ≪枕中記≫에 대한 여러 각도에서의 분석과 역사적 고증을 통해 작품의 가치와 의의를 살펴보고자 하는데 있다. 먼저 歷史書에 기록된 작가 沈旣濟의 일생을 살펴보고, 이전에 제기되었던 작가의 진위 문제에 대해서도 언급하였다. 또한 주인공 盧生이 갈망하는 인생과 깊은 관련이 있는 唐代의 科擧制度에 대해 살펴보고, 작품의 사상적 배경이 된 儒, 佛, 道 三敎에 대해서도 살펴보았다. 다음으로, ≪枕中記≫의 淵源 故事에 대해 살펴보고 작품의 내용을 분석적으로 고찰해보았으며, 인생은 꿈과 같고 부귀영화에 대한 추구는 덧없는 것이라는 人生如夢의 주제를 보다 심도 있게 다루었다. 또한 인물 연구 방면에서는 주인공 盧生의 모델에 대해 지금까지 제기되어온 몇 가지 주장들을 정리하고 소설에서 묘사된 盧生의 성격적 특성을 살펴봄으로써 주인공에 대한 인물 분석을 해보고 道士 呂翁의 작품속에서의 역할에 대해서도 살펴보았다. 마지막으로, ≪枕中記≫의 가장 큰 특징이라 할 수 있는 夢幼構造와 史傳體的 特性, 그리고 作品에 반영된 思想을 고찰하였다. ≪枕中記≫는「楊琳」故事에서 그 영향을 받았고 唐代의 ≪南柯太守傳≫과 ≪櫻桃靑衣≫를 비롯하여 宋代 話本小說, 元代 雜劇과 明代의 많은 戱曲 및 小說의 創作에 깊은 영향을 끼쳤다. 그 중 많은 작품 들은 이미 소실되어 구체적인 내용을 알 수 없지만, ≪黃梁夢≫이나 ≪邯鄲記≫와 같은 작품들은 현재까지 전해지면서 그 가치를 인정받고 있다. 따라서 ≪枕中記≫의 後世에 대한 영향 또한 비교적 중요하게 다루었다. ≪枕中記≫는 中國 唐代 傳奇小說 가운데 ≪南柯太守傳≫, ≪鶯鶯傳≫ 등과 함께 훌륭한 작품으로 평가받고 있다. 그 문장은 간결하고 소박하며 꾸밈이 없지만, 이야기가 함축하고 있는 의미는 매우 깊으며, 주제의 표현에 있어 微言大意의 묘미를 충분히 살리고 있다. 또한 꿈의 구성을 통해 주제를 훌륭하게 부각시키고 있어, 內容과 形式. 藝術的인 면에 있어 唐代 小說로서 매우 큰 가치를 지니고 있다고 평가할 수 있다.|This paper is a study of Tang(唐) China author, Shen Ji Ji(沈旣濟)'s novel, ≪Zhenzhongji(枕中記)) , "The Story of a Dream". In this novel, the main character, Lusheng(盧生), waking up from a dream in which he experiences glory, shame, wealth and prosperity in the community of government officials realizes the transient affairs of this life. This story reflects the trend of preoccupation with worldly success and the negative aspects of the society of civil officials, and denies the value of the search for government positions, which were sought-after at that time. The aim of the thesis is to look into the value and meaning of the work by analyzing it from various aspects including historical research. Above all, I looked into the author's lifetime through the accounts recorded in history books and then mention the issue, previously disputed, of whether Shen Ji Ji(沈旣濟) is the genuine author. Moreover, I studied the civil service examination system and political structure for the background of Tang period. I also studied Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism as they were the ideological foundation of the work. Secondly, I researched the origin of the story and its content in detail, and profoundly analyze the theme of the work: that the search for wealth and prosperity is a transient dream. In addition I studied the main character by laying out other theories about him so far and by researching how his personal character is portrayed in the novel. Finally, I studied the features of the writing style, the ideas reflected, and above all the plot of dream and illusion. ≪Zhenzhongji(枕中記)≫ has been considered a masterpiece along with ≪Nanketaishouzhuan(南柯太守傳)≫ and ≪Yingyingzhuan(鶯鶯傳)≫ among oriental fantasies of Tang(唐) China, and has had a great impact on later novels. The sentences are very simple and plain, even artless, but imply very profound meanings. Moreover, this work is a valued and important novel of the Tang(唐) period in terms of its content, style and artistic aspect, and its effective use of the device of dreams to present the theme of the vanity of pursuing this worldly success throughout its pages.
