단호박 이미지를 통한 현대인의 내면 표현 연구

Abstract

이 논문은 2022년부터 2023년까지 작업한 ‘PUM-’시리즈를 중심으로 4차 산업혁명 이후 현대인이 일상적 삶의 과정에서 경험하는 심리와 감정 상태를 연구한 것이다. 단호박 이미지를 중심으로 하여 캔버스 화면 내공간과 이미지의 구성 및 표현 방법의 연구를 통해 현대인의 내적 모습에대하여 설명하고자 한다.

현대 사회가 급격하게 발전하고 변화하면서 현대인에게 특징적으로 나타나는 새로운 경향이 있다. SNS의 발달로 시시각각 넘쳐나는 수많은 정보들, 세대 간의 다양한 형태의 충돌, 성별 갈등, 청년 취업난 등 다양한 사회문제들이 발생하고 있다. 과거에 비해 현대인은 첨단화된 사회 안에서 보다많은 불안과 스트레스를 안고 살아간다. 나는 현대 사회를 살아가는 나 자신과 타인들의 모습을 새롭게 바라보고 그 과정에서 문제점들을 도출하여작품으로 표현하고자 한다.

본 논문에서는 4차 산업화 시대인 현대 사회의 특성들과 현대인의 심리를 분석하고 조형적으로 연구 한다. 나는 현대인 내면의 비가시적인 스트레스,불안, 우울 등의 정신적 고통과 심리 상태를 셀 수 없이 많은 호박씨와 액체로 가득 찬‘단호박 이미지’로 시각화한다. 절단된 단호박 및 외부로 노출된 호박씨 이미지를 캔버스 화면 위에 구성하면서 복잡한 심리적 고통으로부터 벗어나 안정과 평안을 찾아가는 현대인을 화면에 담고자 한다.

본 논문을 통해 현대 사회에서 살아가는 우리들의 실태를 재인식하고 회화적 치유의 계기가 되길 바란다. 또한, 앞으로의 나의 작품에 대한 내용적 측면을 견고하게 정립하며, 조형적 연구 방식의 발전을 위한 행보로써 의의를 두고자 한다.|This thesis focuses on the 'PUM-' series, which I worked on from 2022 to 2023, to study the characteristics of modern society in the fourth industrialisation era and the psychological and emotional states of modern people. Focusing on the image of a pumpkin, the thesis explains the various and complex psychological states that modern people experience in their lives through the study of the space within the canvas and the composition and expression of the image.

As modern society develops and changes rapidly, there are new trends that characterise modern people. As a result, modern people live with more anxiety and stress in a high-tech society than in the past. The various and complex psychological states that modern people experience in their lives are expressed through the composition of the image of a pumpkin with an embedded emotional baggage. The images of seeds and liquids pouring out from the inside of the cut sweet pumpkin capture the image of modern people seeking peace by relieving psychological pain. As a member of the modern society, I wanted to present the objective situation and problems of the modern society and draw attention to the psychological changes of modern people affected by them.

In conclusion, the time I spent researching the actual situation of modern society in depth and analysing the changes in people's psychological state depending on the situation and comparing the past and present became an opportunity to build the content aspect of the work. Based on this, I tried to show the invisible psychological state of people in a formative way through the image of a pumpkin, so that the psychological pain of modern people can be expressed and resolved externally.

I hope that my thesis will serve as an opportunity to recognise the reality of our lives in the modern world and provide an opportunity for painterly healing. While viewing my work, I hope that the viewer will feel a sense of liberation, as if the emotional baggage that has been accumulating inside modern people is being released.
