나무의 형상을 통한 심상표현 연구 = 염색 작품을 중심으로

Abstract

우리주변의 자연이 현대미술의 창작활동에 미치는 조형적인 범위와 중요성은 이미 철학적인 차원을 넘어 자유로운 재료, 기법 등의 근거로 다양한 표현의 모체가 되고 있다. 특히 자연의 대상들을 기하학적인 형상들로 단순화시키는 것은 자연이라는 소재를 예술의 차원으로 승화시키는데 중요한 예술 기법이라 할 수 있다. 자연은 그 형상들이 가지고 있는 외형적인 특징뿐만 아니라 내면의 세계가 예술창작 소재로 또 다른 의미가 있다. 자연의 생물 가운데 생태계를 이루는 중요한 구성요소가 나무이며 이는 외적, 내적으로 창작활동의 좋은 테마이기도 하다. 일반적으로 나무의 표피나 나이테는 미술창작활동에 소재로 자주 이용되었지만 세포는 접할 수 있는 기회가 적었다. 그러나 세포는 원초적으로 강한 생명력의 본질을 상징하기 때문에 예술창작에 좋은 소재가 될 수 있다. 본 연구자는 자연의 여러 생물체 중 하나인 나무의 형상에서 강한 생명력을 느끼게 되었다. 또한 나무?? 소재로 작품을 형상화 할 때 가시적으로 관찰되는 부분뿐만이 아니고 보이지 않지만 생명활동을 하고 있는 세포를 관찰하고 다양한 각도에서 해석하여 작품으로 제작하고 세포가 가지는 독특함을 미적으로 승화시키고자 하였다. 이를 위해서 자연을 소재로 표현한 추상작가들의 작품에 대해 살펴보고, 나무 세포를 기하학적인 이미지와 접목하고자 했고, 나무를 조형화 한 10점의 작품을 제작하여 그 생명력과 상징성을 표현, 발전시킬 수 있는 방법을 모색하고자 하였다. 이러한 연구를 토대로 문제점을 해결하고 다양한 소재의 선택과 재료, 기법에 대한 끊임없는 개발을 통해서 다양한 표현의 가능성을 모색하고 더욱더 발전된 조형세계를 추구하고자 하였다.|Nature is one of the most important materials on the modern art. As we know already, it has been become the origin of the expression way, materials and creative art activity. Especially, simplification and geometrical expression of the various nature's images in the modern art are the most significant techniques to sublime, from common materials to art. Nature has the significant role on the art activity not only providing a physical appearance but also providing a generic property. Among the compositions of the nature ecosystem, tree is one of the most common components and it has been the best theme of the creative work. Even though the stem and annual rings of the trees have been well known on the art activity, the cells of the trees is not familar to the modern art. Tree cell is symbolic of the strong lives, intense will and source of the complex biological life. Out of numerous nature biological components, tree cells was very attractive theme due to their strong lives. Particularly, the process of simplification and geometrical designing in my textile design work had been focused on the invisible cell in tree body because it represents origin of embryo beyond sight of bare eye. In this study, tree cell has been grafted with geometrical shape because of trying to express the nature image. In addition, this researcher try to analyze the application method of textile design work, which is based on the theoretical background of this study. Based on this study, this researcher try to establish the various expression possibilities of textile design and continues developing of materials in the this field.
