꽃의 이미지를 통한 생명력 표현

Abstract

본 논문은 "Me in nature" 라는 명제로 “석사 졸업 작품 평가를 위한 개인전”(2005년 4월 6일～12일, 가이아 갤러리)에 전시된 본인의 작품을 중심으로 작품의 내용과 표현 형식을 분석한 것이다. 자연은 예로부터 생명의 인식체로서 인간의 끝없는 관심의 대상이었고 생활의 터전이었으며 그 신비스러움과 장엄함은 인간으로 하여금 자연 이미지를 표현하고자 하는 욕구를 느끼게 한다. 또한 인간은 자연의 질서 속에서 삶을 영위하고 자연과 더불어 상호 유기적 관계로 존재하며 내면에 생동하는 감각이나 상상력을 동원하여 예술 작품을 창조한다. 그래서 본인은 자연의 일부인 꽃을 통하여 생명력의 정서를 일깨우고, 꽃이라는 매개물을 통하여 자연 안에 살고 있는 인간의 삶의 모습을 생각하게 되는 계기를 찾고자 하였다. 따라서 본 연구자는 자연에서 볼 수 있는 꽃의 객관적인 순수색으로 이루어져 추상적 표현을 혼재하여 표현 하였고, 꽃을 표현하는 방식으로 확대하여 표현 하였다. 그리고 여성 작가인 오키프(Georgia O'keeffe)의 작품을 예로 들어 꽃의 표현세계를 살펴보았으며 본인 작품의 조형적 분석을 위하여 이미지와 색에 대해서도 살펴보았다. 또한 자연물을 통한 꽃 이미지의 새로운 해석을 모색하는 시도를 통해 더 무한한 표현 영역을 넓혀가고, 다가올 미래의 예술은 우리 마음에서부터 시작되는 것이라 자문해 본다.|This study analyzes contents and expression types of my works displayed by the Private Exhibition to Evaluate Works for a Master's Degree (at the Gaea Gallery from April 6 through 12, 2005) on the subject of "Me in Nature." Nature has long been the origin of life, the target of human beings' continuous interest, and the base of life; its mysteriousness and solemnity may cause human beings to have a desire to express natural image. Human beings lead a life in the natural order, exist as mutually-organic beings together with nature, and use internally-vivid senses or imagination to create a work of art. In this context, I tried to arouse the emotion of life force with flowers, which belong to nature, and express nature that seems to have strong internal association with human life. In other words, I intended to find an opportunity to reflect the appearance of human life in nature through the medium of flowers. For this purpose, I expressed a mix of objective reproduction of flowers seen in nature and abstraction using colors and used magnification in expressing flowers. And I took examples of works by female artists, Georgia O'keeffe, to see the world of flower expressions and also examined images and colors to make a formative analysis of my works. An attempt to make a new interpretation of flower images through natural objects will extend the expression area infinitely and art will begin in our mind for the time to come.
