기원(祈願) 이미지의 금속표현연구

Abstract

오래 전부터 우리 민족의 정신 속에 뿌리 깊이 박혀 있는 무교, 무격신앙 즉, 샤머니즘(Shamanism)은 인간의 간절한 기원과 바람을 집약적으로 담고 있는 중요한 종교 현상이다. 이것은 인간의 본성에 지속적으로 자리하고 있었으며 첨단 현대 문명 속에 살고 있는 오늘날에도 여러 가지 형태와 방법으로 존재하고 있다. 우리 민족은 샤머니즘과 관련한 각기 다른 생각과 이미지들을 지니고 크든 작든 그것에 의지하며 살고 있다. 본 연구자는 인간이 간절히 바라는 비가시적인 기원(祈願)의 이미지를 본인의 주관적 정서에 바탕을 두고, 샤머니즘에서 볼 수 있는 특징적인 소재들과 부합시켜 가시적으로 표현하고자 하였다. 또한 금속이라는 매체를 통하여 각각의 이미지를 함축적, 특징적으로 파악하여 형상화하였고 그 형태에 기능성을 부여해 조형화하였다. 본 연구자는 우리 사회에서 지속적으로 보여 지는 원초적 종교현상의 원인과 방법에 대해 새로운 생각과 시각으로 연구, 재조명해 봄으로써 과거의 문화를 이해하고 현재를 돌아보는 계기를 마련하고자 하며 사람들에게 샤머니즘이라는 원시적 종교 현상의 이미지를 새로운 관점으로 볼 수 있는 방법도 제시하고자 하였다.|Shamanistic tradition, namely Shamanism, which has been deeply rooted in the spirit of our race from long before, is the importantly religious phenomenon that intensively contains an earnest prayer and hope of a human being. This continues to be positioned in the original nature of a human being, and also exists with diverse forms and methods even today that is being lived in the spearhead of modern civilization. Our nation has different thoughts and images, respectively, relevant to Shamanism, and is living with relying on it regardless of being big or small. This researcher attempted to tangibly express by allowing the intangible image of a prayer for which a human being earnestly hopes, to be corresponded to characteristic materials that can be seen in Shamanism, based on the subjective emotion of the person in question. Also, through the medium called a metal, it grasped to embody each image implicitly and characteristically, and allowed it to be formed by giving functionality to its pattern. By researching and re-illuminating on the cause and a method of basically religious phenomenon that continues to be seen in our society, with new idea and vision, this researcher aims to arrange for the opportunity that understands the past culture and looks back the present, and also to put forward a method that allows people to be able to see the image of religious phenomenon called Shamanism with new viewpoint.
