기억을 바라보는 방법

Abstract

본 논문에서는 왜 기억의 재생을 소재로 선택 하였으며, 그것이 어떤 과정을 거쳐 이야기 그림의 형식으로 표현되었는지를 살펴보려 한다. 나의 그림의 소재는 기억 이다. 나는 유년시절의 기억과 무의식 속에서 기억되는 여러 가지 기억의 형상들을 소재로 하여 이야기 형식의 그림을 그려내고자 한다. 표현방식 으로는 고대(古代 )의 예술에서 보여 지는 합성동물의 이미지들과 현대의 일러스트에서 볼 수 있는 과장 되고 희화적 성격의 드로잉을 바탕으로 한 이야기 그림으로 표현 된다. 나는 시간의 작용에 의해서 기억이 망각 되어진다는 사실에 많은 의문을 가지게 되었다. 칸트는 시간은 외적 세계에서 있는 것이 아니라, 주관적 감정에 있다고 하였다. 즉, 기억 또한 비 시간적인 정신의 작용이라고 본다. 나의 기억 또한 무의식적으로 기억을 구분지어 재생되고, 망각되어 진다. 좋은 기억은 내 마음속에 각인 되어 망각하지 않도록 보관하며, 반대로 나쁜 기억은 망각하려고 노력한다. 때론 경험하지 못한 기억을 만들어 내곤 한다. 이런 기억들이 하나하나 쌓여서 하나의 이야기가 되기도 한다. 이런 이야기들은 또 다른 나의 모습 혹은 주변의 모습이 되어 그림으로 표현되기도 한다. 기억의 모습은 인간 심리의 내면세계와 동물적인 외형을 혼합한 동물적 형상으로 표현하였다. 이것은 내가 가진 무의식의 감정의 이입을 상징적으로 표현한 것이다. 그 형상들은 장식적인 선과 면으로 그려지고, 설치를 하는 과정에서 만들어 지는 그림자의 어둠은 또 다른 기억을 의미하기도 한다. 본 논문은 2003년에서 2005년 사이에 제작된 작품들을 대상으로 하여 작품의 전개과정에 있어 표현 하고자했던 내용과 그 제작과정을 연구한 것이다. 기억의 모습 중에 나에게 의미 있는 것들은 어떤 것들이며, 그것을 그림으로 표현하는데 있어서의 조형적 성과와 문제점을 살펴 앞으로의 창작활동에 실제적 기반을 마련하고자 한다.|Material of my drawing is the reproduction of memory. I tried to draw the memory of childhood and various forms to be memorized in unconsciousness. As for expression method, expression is made with with art of ancient times, especially images of synthetic animal to be seen in Skitai animal style and into the form of story drawing to be based on the drawing of exaggerated and pictorial character which can be seen in illust. In this thesis, this researcher tries to examine why the reproduction of memory was chosen as material and through which course it was expressed into the form of story drawing. I came to have many doubts about the fact that memory is forgotten by the action of time. Kant said that time doesn't lie in outer world but it lies in subjective feeling. That is, memory is regarded as the action of untimely spirit. My memory is distinguished unconsciously, reproduced and forgotten. I keep good memory, so that it may be carved in my mind and it may not be forgotten. On the contrary, I make efforts so that bad memory may be forgotten. I make the memory to fail to experience. These memories become one story by being accumulated one by one These stories become another my form or surrounding form and are expressed as drawing. As for the form of memory, I mixed the inside world of human psychology and the animal outer form in expressing the symbol of unconsciousness that feeling is imported with animal form. The forms are drawn with decorative line and surface, and the darkness of shadow which is made in the course of installing means another memory. This thesis is what studied the contents that I tried to express in the course of unfolding of work and the manufacture course on the works manufactured from 2003 to 2005. I try to prepare real base for future creation activity, by examining what are meaningful to me out of various memories and plastic result and point at issues in expressing them as drawing.
