기억과 감성표현의 이미지 연구

Abstract

예술가는 삶을 돌아보고 재창조 할 수 있는 존재이며 수많은 관계를 통해 자신의 정신적, 물리적 활동의 산물을 남긴다. 따라서 자신이 가장 밀접하게 관계하는 소재 속에서 그 인상을 바탕으로 작업의 의미를 찾고자 하는 것은 당연한 일이다. 본 연구의 작품 또한 삶 속 지난 한 시점을 통한 추억의 반영으로써, 작품을 자신이 투영되는 매체로 여기고 그 당시 겪었던 기억과 아쉬움을 그 안에 담음으로써 떠올리는데 그 의미가 있다. 추억은 현실에 묻혀 굳어진 단편이 되지만 살아가는 동안 그 기억을 여전히 그리워하고 마음 깊이 아쉬워한다. 이를 표출하고자 하는 것이 작품의 시작이 되었다. 그리고 그것이 삶에 묻히지 않고 반추하는 또 하나의 기억이 될 수 있다는 사실에 애정을 느꼈다. 이러한 끊임없는 그리움의 집착으로 매 순간 기억을 재창조하고 표출하는 데에 작품의 이유가 있다. 이것은 고백과도 같으며 이 때 작품에 나타나는 이미지를 통해 미쳐 알지 못한 것을 실현시킬 수 있다. 그러므로 마음속에 새겨진 인상을 부각시키거나 의미화 하는 소재의 형성 과정은 작품 제작의 중요한 부분이며 이것은 현실에서 이루지 못한 내면의 환기이다. 작품의 밑바탕이 되는 이러한 내면세계는 본질적인 심리에 바탕을 둔 진솔한 물음의 원천이 된다. 본 연구자는 이러한 감정을 묻고 이해하는 과정을 통해 작품 속 이야기를 엮어 나갔다. 작품 속 이미지들은 심리적인 연상 작용에 의해 다양한 표현 방법들로 형상화 된다. 그러므로 당시 관계된 사물이나 장소를 통해 내면을 확인하는데 주력하였다. 서정적이며 자유로운 분위기의 표현은 관람자에게도 정서적 환기가 된다. 그리고 이것은 전통에 기반을 둔 깊은 감성과 연결되어 주제를 극대화시킨다. 보다 자립적이고 개성이 깃든 작품 형성을 위한 정체성 찾기의 과정이다. 본 논문의 연구를 통한 내면의 표현이 작품의 이해를 돕기 위한 기회가 되기를 기대한다. 그리고 새로운 한국화 방향을 구축하는 계기가 되고자 한다.|Artists can recreate the life in their art works by ruminating over the emotions they had felt on certain occasions. Therefore, it is quite natural that they are eager to search for materials, which they encounter the most in everyday lives, for their works of art. Likewise, my works are also the reflection of experiences in certain moments of my life. I regard my flames as intermediation for recalling the past since they can show my emotions of that time. The works were motivated by the anxious for good memories of my reactions to certain situation. Memories and compunctions in memories became visible mementos through my work. Pieces of my work could confirm how much I was naive in dealing with surroundings given to me especially in the relationship with others. Near obsession for tracing old memories has helped me to create art works making the memories more stable and worth to remember. Each frame is a confession of myself and images also withhold my own memories. It sometimes shows other kinds of memories which I have not even thought in conscious but had in mind unconsciously. Carving my unconscious memories which have floated in my mind is an essential part of my art works. That's why I continue to paint and is the origin of my curiosity that prompted my works. Hence, frames have stories since images in them were made by blending of ideas. Different kinds of method were used for expressing psychological associates which are very much related to objects and places I observed. I hope that this dissertation would give some ideas to understand my art works. Furthermore, it is the first step to analyze works I have created so that I can establish the concrete foundation of the world of my art.
