高麗時代 仁王百高座道場과 그 政治史的 性格에 대한 考察

Abstract

高麗時代에는 80여종의 佛敎行事가 設行되었는데, 이중 仁王百高座道場은 대표적인 護國法會로서 고려전시대에 걸쳐 설행되었다. 지금까지 인왕백고좌도량에 대한 연구는 仁王經의 護國思想에 초점을 맞추어 이루어져 왔고 근간에 와서 여타 다른 법회와 같이 그 歷史的 意味를 찾고자 하는 노력이 시도되고 있다. 본고에서는 인왕백고좌도량의 호국적 성격이 시대적 상황과 집권자의 성격에 따라 어떻게 적용되어 사회 전반에 어떠한 작용을 하였는지 파악해 보고자 하였다. 1장에서는 인왕백고좌도량의 思想的 背景을 살펴보았다. 도량개설의 근간을 이루는 ≪仁王護國般若波羅蜜多經≫ 중 ＜護國品＞ 에서는 국가가 위기에 당면했을 때 이를 극복하는 구체적인 방법을 제시해 주고 있다. 이로 인하여 역사상으로는 인왕백고좌도량이라는 의식을 낳는 근거가 되었다. 2장에서는 인왕백고좌도량의 개설에 대한 전반적인 흐름을 파악하고 개설상의 특징을 살펴보았다. 『高麗史』 에서는 顯宗 3년에 최초의 개설 기록이 보이나 惠居國師의 비문을 통하여 光宗朝에도 설행되고 있었음을 확인하였고 이러한 사실로 보아 고려초기부터 계속 설행되지 않았을까 짐작해 볼 수 있었다. 한편 高宗朝를 ?恍컸臼? 개설상의 성격이 확연히 달라짐을 발견할 수 있는데, 이는 고종조를 전후하여 飯僧의 성격이 변모되는 것과 연관하여 이해되어 질 수 있었다. 3장에서는 인왕백고좌도량의 開設 目的을 살펴보았다. 인왕백고좌도량은 外患과 內憂時 또는 왕의 卽位時에 개설되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 외환을 극복하고자 佛力을 빌려 적병을 물리치려 하였고 내우시의 도량은 농경 의례적 성격을 보여주었다. 한편 왕의 즉위시에는 왕권 강화를 위하여 개설되었음을 알 수 있었다. 4장에서는 도량을 시기적으로 구분하여 시대적 상황과 집권자의 성격에 따라 어떻게 적용되어 설행되었는지 살펴보았다. 고려전기와 무신집권기, 원간섭기, 고려말기로 구분하여 각 시대에 있어 도량개설의 정치적 성격을 규명하여 보았다.|When Koryo dynasty, 80 kinds of Buddhist function was performed. Among them, INWANGBAEKGOJATORYANG is performed covering whole Koryo dynasty as representative Buddhist ceremony to defense the Country. So far, Study about INWANGBAEKGOJATORYANG has been done, focussed on INWANGKYONG's idea to defense the country and nowadays, the effort to find the historical meaning has been tried same as other Buddhist ceremony. This dissertation is aimed to know how the INWANGBAEKGOJATO RYANG's feature to defense the country was applied according to historical situation and characteristic of the King and what influence was made to whole society. At chapter 1, study about background of INWANGBAEKGOJATOR YANG's idea was done. At "HOKOOKPUM" among ≪INWANGHOKOO KBANYABARAMILDAKYUNG≫ which was Basis of opening the TORAYNG, Concrete method for country to overcome the crisis is suggested in case of the crisis. This became the root of INWANGBAEKGOJATORYANG's idea at the aspect of history. At chapter 2, with the general trend of INWANGBAEKGOJA TORYANG's opening, the feature about opening was studied. In 3rd year of king HYUNJONG, the first record about opening is shown on 「KORYOSA」. However it came to be known by inscription of HEGEAKOOKSA that INWANGBAEKGOJATORYANG had already been performed at king KWANGJONG's period. In this regards, it was guessed that it's beginning goes back to the early Koryo dynasty. In the other hands, the feature of opening is remarkably changed around the King KOJONG's period. This can be understood in relation to that the feature of PANSUNG had been changed about the time of king KOJONG. At chapter 3, The purpose of INWANGBAEKGOJATORYANG's opening was studied. It is known that INWANGBAEKGOJATORYANG was opened against enemy's invasion, domestic worries and for coronation ceremony. At enemy's invasion, they tried to defeat the enemy with the power of Buddha. And at domestic worries, TORYANG showed the feature of agricultural ceremony. It is also known that TORYANG is opened to consolidate the King's authority during coronation ceremony. At chapter 4, It is studied how TORYANG applied and performed according to historical situation and characteristic of the King with the periodization. There is a trial to look into the political feature of the opening of TORYANG with periodization of early Koryo dynasty, soldier's governing. peroid, WON's governing period and the end of Koryo dynasty.
