Sergey Prokofieff의 Piano sonata Op.83 No.7에 대한 구조적 분석과 연주를 위한 고찰

Abstract

20세기의 대표적 작곡가 중의 한 사람이며 피아니스트인 세르게이 프로코피에프(Sergey Prokofieff : 1891-1953)는 그의 전 생애를 통해 다양한 장르의 많은 작품을 남겼으나 특히 피아노 음악에 큰 비중을 두었다. 프로코피에프는 20세기의 시대적 상황과 그의 사상을 음악 속에 담아 자신의 내면 세계를 표현하려 했으며 새로운 그의 작품들 가운데 특히 피아노 작품들은 19세기의 피아노 음악의 전통을 계승함과 동시에 피아노라는 악기에 타악기적인 다이나믹한 표현을 더하여 고전적인 양식과 현대적인 음악 어법을 조화시켰다. 이 가운데 9개의 피아노 소나타들은 그의 음악적 특징과 독창성이 잘 나타나 현대 피아노 음악에의 공헌이 두드러지는 작품이다. 그 중 전쟁 소나타(War Sonata)라고 불리 우는 제 6, 7, 8번은 프로코피에프의 독창적인 음악적 특징들이 가장 잘 나타나는 작품들이다. 특히 7번 소나타는 완성도가 높고 균형 잡힌 곡으로 평가되어 가장 많이 연주되는 피아노 곡 중 하나이다. 이 작품은 소나타 알레그로, 가요, 론도 형식의 3악장 구성으로 이루어졌고 고전적인 형식을 유지하면서 현대적인 어법을 동시에 사용한다. 또한 7번 소나타는 Tempo의 대조가 심하기 때문에 생동감 있는 연주가 될 수 있도록 정확한 리듬의 연구가 필요하고, 그에 따른 페달의 적절한 사용을 요하는데, 특히 소스테누토 페달의 적극적인 사용은 프로코피에프 음악의 특징적인 면을 표현하는데 매우 효과적이다. 제 7번 소나타의 분석과 그에 따른 연주법을 살펴 봄으로써 프로코피에프의 피아노 소나타 제 7번, op83은 고전주의 전통에 자신의 혁신성을 잘 조화시켰고 피아노라는 악기에 부여된 보다 많은 가능성을 찾아 새로운 음향을 탄생시킴으로써 새로운 피아노 음악사를 개척하는데 크게 기여한 작품이다.|Sergey Prokofieff(1891-1953), a pianist and one of the greatest composers in 20^(th) century, showed his composition works of a broad and far spectrum in its genre and variety throughout his lifetime. Piano music, however, was the area of his special interest and enthusiasm. With his music, Sergey Prokofieff tried to express his inner world, in which are embedded his thought and situational context of the times he belonged to. His piano works are also made in this regards and they are well known to harmonize classical style and modern musical technique, succeeding the tradition of piano music and adding dynamic expression of percussion instrument to it. His nine pieces of piano sonata contribute markedly to modern piano music with its musical uniqueness and creativity. Most noticeably, piano sonatas ＃6,7,8, called War Sonata, are the pieces which best expressed his creative and unique musical character. Of these, Sonata ＃7 is more widely performed than any other pieces due to its musical completeness and symmetry. To take a close look at the details of the Sonata ＃7, the 1^(st) movement(Bb) in Allegro adopts modern style with keeping its basic structure of classical mode. The 2^(nd) movement_(E major) in the Song form has more a mode of lyric style, and the 3^(rd) movement is in the Rondo form with a clear Bb Major tonality which expressed this sonata's character efficiently. For brisker performance of Sonata ＃7, the player is required to study the piece focusing on exact application of rhythm because it has a marked contrast in its tempo and thus, proper usage of pedal is needed. Especially, the sostenuto pedal might be aggressively used to show Prokofieff's musical features effectively. With a short analysis of Sonata ＃7 and a review of an appropriate playing pattern, we have a knowledge of Prokofieff's creativity which led to the opening of new history of piano music by balancing the classical tradition he pursued with his self-innovative inspiration. Above all, it is noteworthy that his contribution to the creation of unique music pattern in the piano art, in search of a variety of musical possibilities allowed for the genre, is of great significance to us.
