R.Strauss의 가곡『Mädchenblumen(소녀의 꽃)』Op.22 에 관한 연구

Abstract

리하르트 슈트라우스(Richard Strauss, 1864-1949)는 독일의 후기 낭만주의를 대표하는 작곡가로서 전 생애동안 150여곡의 가곡을 작곡하였다. 그의 화려하고 대담한 색채감, 그리고 풍부한 화성의 짜임새로 구성되어진 작품들은 후기 낭만주의의 예술가곡에서 나타나는 대표적인 경향들을 잘 보여주고 있다. <Ma¨dchenblumen(소녀의 꽃)>Op.22는 펠릭스 단(Felix Dahn, 1834-1912)의 시에 곡을 붙인 것으로 슈트라우스의 초기 가곡에 해당하는 작품이다. 모두 4곡으로 구성되어 있는 이 작품은 수레국화(Kornblumen), 양귀비꽃(Mohnblumen), 담쟁이덩굴(Epheu), 수련(Wasserrose)의 4가지 꽃을 각각 소재로 하여 작곡되었고 꽃에 대한 사실적 묘사를 하거나 그 꽃에 비유된 소녀의 외모 또는 내면적인 성격을 음악적으로 잘 표현하고 있다. 또한 각 곡의 소재로 쓰여진 꽃의 형상이나 이미지 등을 가지고 음악과 함께 결합시키는 데 있어서 다양한 표현기법을 사용하여 각 곡의 성격을 구체적으로 잘 드러내주고 있다. 본 논문은 <Ma¨dchenblumen>의 분석을 통하여 슈트라우스의 가곡에서 나타나는 그의 음악적 특징을 살펴보고, 시와 음악에 있어 완벽한 조화를 이루기 위해 사용된 다양한 표현기법에 대하여 연구한 것이며, 특히 피아노 반주부에서 슈트라우스 특유의 회화적인 색채감이 특징적으로 나타나고 있음을 살펴봄으로써 그에 따른 구체적인 반주법에 관해 고찰하고자 한다.|Richard Strauss(1864-1949), a representative composer of post- romanticism music in Germany, has composed over 150 songs throughout his life. Strauss' works show his sumptuous and bold sense, combined with rich structure of harmony that displays the typical tendency of post-romanticism music. Ma¨dchenblumen, Op.22, written in his early composition period, uses Felix Dahn's(1834-1912) poem as its lyrics. It is composed of four pieces that depict four different kinds of flowers; the Kornblumen, Mohnblumen, Epheu, and Wasserrose. Likewise, it expresses the external and internal aspects of that of a young girl's, coming from each flower's image, cleverly through music. Moreover, the use of each flower's shape and image reflected in the songs show various musical techniques that fit each and every song's specific characteristics. Through analysis of Ma¨dchenblumen, this thesis will closely look into the musical characteristics of Richard Strauss, study the various techniques used in the perfect harmonization of poem and music, and especially look into Strauss' particular use of tone colors from the piano accompaniment, thereby examining Strauss' concrete accompaniment.
