Richard Strauss의 가곡 비교 분석 연구 : 시기별 변화에 따른 가곡의 비교 및 분석 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 리하르트 슈트라우스(Richard Strauss : 1864~1949)의 예술가곡에 관하여 음악적 시기의 특징과 변화, 발전된 그의 가곡 스타일을 4기로 분류하고 각 시기별로 대표되는 곡을 발췌하여 비교 연구하였다. 슈트라우스는 19세기 후반, 20세기 초에 활동한 후기 낭만주의의 가장 대표적인 작곡가이다. 그의 주요한 작곡 분야 중 하나는 가곡으로, 200여 곡에 달하는 그의 가곡들은 독일 예술가곡의 경향과 시대적 특징을 고찰하는데 중요한 음악사적 중요성을 지닌다. 그의 초기 가곡들은 슈만(Robert Schumann : 1810~1856)과 브람스(Johannes Brahms : 1833~1897)의 영향을 받아 서정적인 분위기의 악상을 띄며, 간결한 형식을 기초로 하여 균형감과 서정성이 유지된 선율적 특징을 지닌다. 그러나 후기의 가곡들은 바그너(Wilheim Richard Wagner : 1813~1883)의 영향으로 반음계적선율이 성악선율에 도입되어 화성과 음역의 폭이 넓어졌고, 감정표현도 더욱 깊어져 있음을 볼 수 있다. 또한 전통적 형식인 노래와 피아노 반주의 독일 가곡을 관현악 반주로 작곡하여 더욱 풍부하고 표현적인 리트를 창조해내었다. 독일 예술가곡에 큰 공적을 남긴 그의 음악적 영향력을 생각해 볼 때, 그의 가곡을 연구한다는 것은 보다 나은 연주를 위하여 충분한 의의와 가치가 있다고 본다. 본 논문을 네 부분으로 나누어, 첫 번째 부분에서는 후기 낭만 예술가곡의 시대적인 배경과 그 특징에 대하여 서술하였고, 두 번째 부분에서는 슈트라우스의 생애를 간략하게 다루었으며, 세 번째 부분에서는 그의 가곡의 일반적인 특징과 작품경향, 또한 시기적 분류를 통하여 나타나는 작곡 스타일의 변화를 연구함으로 그의 가곡 세계를 고찰하였고, 네 번째 부분에서는 그 시기에 따른 대표적인 작품 ＜Allerseelen＞, ＜Cacilie＞, ＜Kling!＞, ＜Beim Schlafengehen＞을 선정하여, 각 시기별 음악적 흐름에 따른 가곡의 변화에 대하여 비교 분석하였다.|This thesis is a study of Art Songs(Lied) by Richard Strauss who was born in 1864 and died in 1949. In this thesis, the comparison ＆ analysis of his song style and type in accordance with historical trend and change was dealt with. The understanding of his song style or type has been variable to the posterior musicians through centuries. Richard Strauss is the most representative German composer who had worked from late in 19th century all through 20th century. From the early time of classic ＆ romantic age through the late in that age when the great shift or change had taken place, he had established the foundation of radical romantic tradition. He began his life as composer with particularly, song among a variety of compositions and had showed great enthusiasm ＆ passion to German Art Song by composing song until he breathed his last breath. Richard Strauss' songs can be said the vessels cherishing his life confession. From such a view, each one of them can be estimated containing the significant and important meaning to show periodical change all through one age of time. His early songs have, influenced from Robert Schumann(1810-1856) ＆ Johannes Brahms(1833-1897), a variety of melodious features with the stable ＆ lyric which are based upon simple musical formality. However, later, influenced by Wilheim Richard Wagner (1813-1883), his songs became deeper with the width of emotional expression and wider with the width of harmony ＆ musical range. Besides, he had overcome plentiful ＆ ordinary musical formality with the shift from early romantic small sized piano accompaniment through orchestra accompaniment and created a variety of musics freely. About 200 songs of his have significance ＆ meaningful position in the study ＆ investigation of periodical features ＆ tendency of German Art Song which express late musical romanticism. Considering his influence to leave great achievement in the history of German Art Song all through the history of vocal music, the study of his song is of great importance and significance and worthy of deep study ＆ research. This thesis is composed of 4 parts as followings; First of all, in the first part, the periodical background ＆ its features of late romantic Art Song were studied. Secondly, the second part is engaged in the Life of Richard Strauss. Thirdly, general features ＆ tendency of Richard Strauss' song and the change of composition style classified by each period were investigated in the third part. Lastly, it was in the fourth part that comparison ＆ analysis of change of song according to periodical musical trend in reference of ＜Allerseelen＞, ＜Cacilie＞, ＜Kling!＞, ＜Beim Schlafengehen＞ were done.
