Maurice Ravel의 「Cinq Mélodies Populaires Grecques」에 관한 연구

Abstract

서양음악에는 19세기 말부터 20세기 초에 걸쳐 낭만주의의 예술적 경향을 탈피한 새로운 음악어법이 나타나게 되었다. 이러한 특징의 음악 중 프랑스 인상주의 음악은 음계와 화성에 대한 색다른 개념을 확립시키게 된다. 인상주의적 경향을 나타내는 작곡가로는 크게 드뷔시(Claude Debussy, 1862-1918)와 라벨(Maruice Ravel, 1975-1937)을 들 수 있다. 특히 라벨은 고전적인 프레이즈 구조와 견고한 화음의 구성, 명확한 리듬 등을 사용하여 드뷔시와는 구별된 방향의 인상주의적 음악을 추구하였다. 라벨의 성악작품은 39곡으로 그 중 11곡은 라벨의 음악적 개성과 특징 안에서 민요의 전통 멜로디 선율을 소재로 하여 가곡으로 편곡한 것들이다. 이 11곡의 곡들에는 라벨이 어릴 적부터 가지고 있었던 이국적인 요소와 민속음악에 대한 깊은 관심이 반영되었으며, 특히 중세 그리스 민요의 원형에 반주를 붙여 편곡한 그의 첫 민요집인 「5개의 그리스 민요집(Cinq Mélodies Populaires Grecques)」에서 라벨은 자신의 민속음악에 대한 관심을 잘 나타내고 있다. 본 논문의 「5개의 그리스 민요집」은 라벨의 친구이자 민요 수집가였던 칼보코레시(M. D. Calvocoressi)가 수집하고 번역한 그리스 민요에 피아노 반주부의 작곡 의뢰를 받아 라벨이 만든 것이다. 이 작품은 평범한 일상생활을 소재로 한 시들에 독특한 선율과 리듬을 사용하여 프랑스어가 갖는 고유의 억양을 잘 접목시킨 작품이라고 할 수 있다. 그리고 이 작품은 민요가 그 원형이였기에 음역이 높지 않으며 화성에 있어서 3음을 생략하는 개방형코드(Open Chord)와 9도 화음, 11도 화음을 자주 사용하였다. 이와 동시에 다섯 곡의 각각 다양한 반주기법과 중세의 선법을 사용하여 인상주의적인 미와 그리스 민요의 색채를 느낄수 있으며 시와 음악의 조화를 이룬 작품이라 하겠다. 이와 같이 논문에서는 라벨의 「5개의 그리스 민요집」의 특징적인 음악기법을 연구하여 실제 이 곡을 연주하는 연주자들에게 도움을 주고자 한다.| In western music from the late 19th century to early 20th century, a new musical language to escape the artistic trend of romanticism appears. The Franch impressionism music in middle of music of like this feature makes a different pattern concept musical scale and harmony establish. Composers who show an impressionism tendency are Claude Debussy (1862-1918) and Maruice Ravel (1975-1937) on a large scale. As Maruice Ravel uses the classic phrase, chord structure and composition of solid, clear rhythm, he is different from the impressionism music of the direction of Claude Debussy. The vocal music work of Ravel is 39 musics, Among the rest 11 musics, the personality and characteristics of the traditional folk melodies and tunes of Ravel are to be arranged with song. 11 songs were reflected from his childhood of exotic elements and a deep interest in folk music, In particular, Ravel showed his own interest in folk music through the original form of the medieval Greek folk songs, "5 Greek folk songs (Cinq Mélodies Populaires Grecques)". "5 Greek folk songs" in this paper was the Greece folk song that Ravel's friend, folk song collector, M. D. Calvocoressi collected and translated, added Piano accompaniment composition by Ravel. This work is one combined a unique accent for French to give using a unique melody and rhythm subjecting daily life. And since this work is the original form of folk song, compass is not high, it uses Open Chord to abbreviate 3 scale in transformation and 9 chord, 11chord. Simultaneously it uses the various accompaniment technique of five music and the mode of the middle ages of five music impressional beauty and shows color of the Greek folk song and is combination of poetry and music. Like this in this paper I want to study the musical technique which is characteristic in 5 Greek folk songs of Ravel and help performers to play this music.
