J. Brahms의 (Zigeunerlieder, Op.103) (집시의 노래)에 대한 연구

Abstract

19C 독일의 낭만주의 가곡 작곡가로써 중요한 위치를 차지하는 요하네스 브람스(Johannes Bramhs, 1833-1897)는 고전과 낭만을 결합하고 있는 작곡가로 형식, 선율, 시 그리고 리듬에 자유로움과 동시에 각각의 특성에 매우 엄격했다. 음악적으로는 바흐(J.S.Bach, 1685-1750)와 베토벤(L.V.Beethoven, 1770- 1827) 을 성악곡으로는 슈만(R. Schumann, 1810-1856)과 슈베르트(F. Schubert, 1797 -1828)를 계승하고 있는 브람스는 무엇보다도 음악의 전체적 구성을 중요시 했던 작곡가이다. 그의 음악은 민요(folk song)와 민속 음악(folk music)이 바탕에 자리 잡고 있는 것이 특징인데 여기에 음악의 미적인 면뿐 아니라 균형을 염두 해 두고 작곡했다. 이것은 그의 풍부한 서정성과 연결되며 긴장감 있는 강렬한 표현들은 그의 가곡이 한층 수준 있음을 보여준다. 브람스는 시와 음악이 완전히 일치되는 것을 추구하지 않고 전체적으로 시와 연결되어 음악이 중심에 놓이게 하였다. 이는 시보다 음악에 가치를 더 두고 있음을 말해준다. 본 논문은 헝가리 집시 음악이라는 소재로 작곡된 <Zigeunerlieder, Op. 103>의 배경이 되는 집시음악에 대해 알아보고 어떤 방법을 통해 민속적 색채를 가미하였는지에 초점을 두고 연구했다. 그리하여 이 곡을 연주할 때, 표현함에 있어 실질적인 도움을 주는데 목적을 두고자 한다.|Johannes Brahms(1838-1897) is a renowned German composer in the 19th Century Romantic era who bridges between Classical and Romantic music. Throughout his life, he composed more than 200 song, which are based on folk songs. Brahms had much interest in folk music and songs, and <Zigeunerlieder, op. 103> is one of them. <Zigeunerlieder>was originally from 25 hungarian folk songs, which had four vocal parts with accompaniment. Brahms took only 8 songs and turned them into solo pieces. This thesis studies these 8 songs. The immortal theme of love's pain and pleasures, which forms the subject of the <Zigeunerlieder> This song has a very simple melody. All songs are in 2/4 time, and except for No. 7 all songs are in quick tempo. Brahms also uses two part forms, dotted notes, and syncopated rhythm to express strong passion of Hungarian gypsies. This thesis explores how these characteristics of gypsy music were expressed in Brahms' songs. This thesis was also written to aid those who would like to perform these songs more effectively.
