Abstract

논 문 개 요

프란츠 리스트(Franz Liszt, 1811-1886)는 형식보다는 예술가의 자유로운 표현을 중시했던 낭만주의 시대에 급진적으로 새로움을 추구했던 진보적인작곡가이다. 그는 혁신적인 진보를 지향한 베를리오즈, 바그너와 함께 ‘미래의 음악’을 추구하면서 전통적인 형식을 해체하고 문학적이고 시적인 표제음악의 발전을 선도하였다. 리스트의 <피아노 소나타 b단조>는 표제음악은 아니지만 전통적인 형식의 해체라는 관점에서 또 다른 세계를 연 선구적인 역할을 한 작품이다. 리스트는 이 작품을 기존 소나타에서 고수되던 다악장의 형식적 틀에서 벗어난 단악장으로 구성하였고, 더 나아가 주제변형기법이라는 고유한 작곡기법을 통해 다섯 개의 주제적 모티브를 자유롭게 변형, 발전시킴으로써 표현의 다양성과 구조적 통일성을 동시에 획득한다. 또한 증·감 음정, 온음음계, 반음계, 서정적인 선율, 옥타브 진행, 오스티나토, 동음연타, 아르페지오, 레치타티보적인 카덴차 등 다양한 요소들을 효과적으로 활용하여 화려하고 비루투오적이며 극적인 성격을 극대화하였다. 리스트의 <피아노 소나타 b단조>는 리스트의 ‘혁신적인 낭만주의자’로서의 면모를 가장 잘 보여주는 작품 가운데 하나이다. 동시에 낭만주의 피아노 소나타의 절정을 보여주며 피아노 음악의 역사에서 새로운 전기를 마련한 작품이다.|ABSTRACT

An Analytical Study on Piano Sonata b minor by Franz Liszt

F. Liszt(1811-1886) is a progressive composer who has pursued new technique radically in the age of romanticism when it was regarded freedom of composer as important rather than formality. He has pursued future-oriented music with Berlioz and Wagner who have aimed the way of progressive and led the development of literary and poetic program music by dissolving classical formal. F. Liszt's Piano sonata in B minor was not a program music, but it was a pioneering piece by making the other area from a dissolution of traditional format. And it was composed of single movement instead of existing sonata's movement. Furthermore, it obtained a diversity of expression and structural unity simultaneously by developing and changing five thematic motif freely through unique composition technique called theme transformation technique. In addition, F. Liszt maximized the radical and virtuosic and fancy personality by utilizing various elements effectively like augmented and diminished interval. Whole-tone scale, chromatic scale, lyrical melody, octave progression, ostinato, hitting homophony repeatedly, arpeggio and recitative cadenza. Liszt's Piano sonata in B minor is the one of the best piece to represent as an innovative romantic. Simultaneously, it goes down in history of music to represent the peak of a romantic piano sonata.
