Francis Poulenc의 가곡 「Airs chantes」의 반주 연구

Abstract

뿔렝끄(Francis Poulenc, 1899~1963)는 포레(Gabriel Faure´, 1845~1924)와 드뷔시(Claude Debussy, 1862~1918) 이후 프랑스 예술가곡의 전통을 이어받은 20세기 작곡가로 152곡의 뛰어난 성악 작품을 남겼다. 초기에는 스트라빈스키(Igor Stravinsky, 1882~1971)의 신고전주의를 지향하는 6인조의 일원으로 당시에 유행하던 무조음악이나 음렬음악이 아닌 전통적 화성을 바탕으로 한 단순하면서도 아름답고 서정적인 선율의 가곡을 작곡하였고, 후기에는 초현실주의 시에 많은 가곡을 작곡하며 작품세계를 넓혀 나갔다. 40년간 뿔렝끄가 보여준 프랑스 가곡의 특징은 시에 대한 뛰어난 음악적 해석으로 음악과 가사의 이중적 세계를 하나의 「음악 가곡」안에 조화롭게 성취해 나감으로써 자신만의 독특한 음악세계를 만들어나갔다는 데 있다. 이 논문에서 분석하려는 가곡 「Airs chante´s」 역시 뿔렝끄는 모레아스(Jean More´as, 1856-1910)의 시를 새롭게 해석하여 그가 받은 음악적 영감을 단순하면서도 아름다운 선율에 옮겨놓고 있다. 본 논문에서는 프랑스 예술 가곡의 배경에 대한 이해와 함께, 뿔렝끄의 생애와 작품경향, 성악곡의 특징을 시기별로 나누어 알아보고, 전 4곡으로 이루어진 「Airs chante´s」의 작품 분석을 통하여 그의 가곡의 특성을 바로 이해하며 나아가 실질적인 연주에 반영하고자 한다.|Francis Poulenc(1899~1963) left 152 songs for voice and piano, inheriting the musical tradition of French melodie highlighted by Gabriel Faure(1845~1924) and Claude Debussy(1862~1918). He composed songs fraught with beautiful and simple melodic lines based on traditional harmony and tonality, which were absolutely different from the musical trends of the 20th century like atonal and serial music. He acted as a member of 'Les Six' to aim at the neo-classicalism of Igor Stravinsky(1882~1971) and after that he widened his works world through a great number of songs affected by surrealistic poems. The characteristic of Poulenc's songs that he showed for 40 years is significant. It interpreted poetries to his peculiar musical style. In this thesis I will be analyzing the unique composition style of Poulenc in one of his well-known works, 「Airs chante´s」. The Poetry of 「Airs chante´s」 was written by a Greek poet named jean More´as(1856~1910). This song cycle has beautiful melodic line and makes people feel his gifted musical talent by mixing poem and piano. This study explains the background of French me´lodie, life of Poulenc, the features of works according to each musical trend and the general marks of vocal music for whole understanding of Poulenc's works and helps singer and pianist who like to play this collection by analyzing 「Airs chante´s」 itself.
