F. Poulenc의 가곡<Airs Chantés>에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 프란시스 뿔렝크(Francis Poulenc, 1899-1963)의 가곡인 <Airs Chantés>에 대한 연구이다. 뿔렝크는 프랑스 6인조 중 일원으로 작곡가 사티(Eric Satie, 1866-1925)의 음악적, 정신적 영향을 받았으며, 이후 스트라빈스키(Stravinsky, 1882-1971)의 신고전주의를 지향하였다. 그의 음악은 당시의 20세기 초기작품의 성향과 달리 분명한 조성과 박자를 가지며, 선율이 단순하고, 리듬의 반복적진행과 동형진행으로 통일성을 이루고 있다. 뿔렝크의 주요 작품으로는 예술가곡, 오페라, 합창곡과 같은 성악곡이 잘 알려져 있으며, 그중 오페라 <티레지아의 유방(Les mamelles de Tirésias )>과 <카르멜 수도회 수녀들의 대화(Dialigues des Camelites)>가 유명하다. 또한, 인간의 목소리를 사랑한 뿔렝크는 그의 생애를 통해 150여곡의 가곡을 작곡하였다. 그의 독창적이고 개성적인 가곡은 익살스러우며 서정적이고, 또한 아주 감각적인 것에서부터 신랄한 진지함에 이르기까지 다양한 곡들로 이루어져 있다. 본 논문의 주제인 <Airs Chantés>는 시인 모레아(Moréas, 1856-1910)의 시 4편에 곡을 붙인 작품으로 인간과 자연을 주된 소재로 하여 자연과 교감되는 인간의 내적 감정을 표현하고 있다. <Airs Chantés>는 뿔렝크의 독창적인 화성적 특징과 배치가 뛰어난 작품이다. 그리고 신고전주의의 특징인 감정의 절제와 균형, 균형잡힌 형식, 간결하며 아름다운 선율과 리듬 등의 음악적 특징이 잘 드러나 있어 아름다움이 살아있는 매력적인 작품이다.

| This thesis is about the research for <Airs Chantés>, the song of Francis Poulenc(1899-1963). Poulenc was the one of Les Six and musically and mentally influenced on the composer, Eric Satie(1866-1925); after that, he moved toward Neoclassicism of Stravinsky(1882-1971). His music has clear formations and rhythms, and unity as simple melodies and sequences of rhythms. There are major works of Poulenc that are known as cantatas such art songs, operas and choruses. Operas titled as Les mamelles de Tirésias and Dialigues des Camelites are the most famous among those. Additionally, Poulenc, who love the voice of human, composed about 150 songs during his whole life. His creative and distinguished songs are humorous and emotional; they are consisted of various songs from very sensitive things to shrewd seriousness. The main idea <Airs Chantés> is the work that was made as a song putting 4 poems together and expresses the inner emotions of human which sympathize with nature using human and nature as the writing materials. <Airs Chantés> is excellent in creative harmonic characteristics and arrangements of Poulenc. Moreover, it is the attractive work that beauty is alive because it shows Neoclassicism's musical characteristics by being control and balance of emotions and balanced forms, not only simply but beautiful melodies and rhythm.
