F. Chopin의 『Ballade Op. 52 No. 4』의 분석적 연구

Abstract

낭만시대를 대표하는 작곡가 중 한 사람인 쇼팽(Frederic Francois Chopin, 1810-1849)은 과감한 형식적 변형을 시도한 자유분방하며 서정적인 작품들을 작곡하였다. 그는 시대를 앞서가는 독창적인 여러 작법을 통해 19세기에 피아노라는 악기의 장점을 극대화시켜 기악음악에서의 피아노 음악을 따로 분리하여 하나의 새로운 음악 장르로 발전시켰다는 평가를 받고 있다. 그는 피아노 음악에서 낭만시대에서는 볼 수 없었던 독자적인 페달링, 운지법, 다양한 반주양식과 독특한 리듬을 사용하였는데 이러한 음악적 특징들은 서정성 짙은 그 만의 음악 세계를 보다 힘있게 구축시켜 나갔으며 20세기 피아노 음악에서 새로운 길을 제시해 주었다. 본 논문은 쇼팽의 음악관이 잘 적용되었고 그의 다양한 음악세계를 탐미할 수 있는 발라드 4번을 중심으로 연구하였다. 발라드 4번은 소나타 형식으로 작곡되었으나 고전주의의 엄격한 조성관계나 형식에 치중하기보다는 자유롭게 변형되거나 확대시키는 방법을 사용하고 있다. 발라드 4번의 구성은 제 1주제와 4개의 변주가 전 곡을 통해 중요한 구조적 흐름을 이끌어가고 결과적으로 통일된 구축미를 보여주고 있다. 또한 변주들은 자유로운 대위법적 서법으로 주제가 변형되고 있으며 마지막 코다는 전혀 다른 제 3의 주제를 이용하여 발라드 4번을 화려하고 극적으로 이끌어가기 위한 목적으로 그려지므로서 기존의 소나타 형식과는 차별화를 두고 있다.|Chopin(Frederic Francois Chopin, 1810-1849), one of the greatest composers during the age of romanticism, had written free style and lyrical works without considering predetermined forms. He has been regarded as the creator of the " piano music " genre by vitalizing many positive aspects of the piano, and with new and creative approaches he separated the piano from instrumental music in the 19th century. Popularizing the piano is one of the Chopin s greatest contributions to music. This paper focuses on Chopin s Ballade No 4 which is an outstanding example of his wide-ranged music views. Ballad No 4 follows the form of the sonata. However, it does not follw the classical formality, but follows the freely-varied sonata. The first movement and his four variation lead structural flow through the entire song, and consequently show the beauty of unification. Also, variation include deformation of theme according to the free counterpoint, and the last coda using the third theme is described to make Ballade No. 4 dramatic and magnificent. These features differentiate Ballade No. 4 from his other works.
