A. C. Debussy의 가곡 《Quatre chansons de jeunesse》에 관한 연구

Abstract

Achille Caude Debussy(1862-1918) was one of the great composers in French Melody with Marie-Eug?ne-Henri Duparc(1848-1933) and Gabriel-Urbain Faur?(1845-1924). He developed impressionism in late-19th century. His music had a strong resemblance to impressionism in art and was considered fine music that harmonized poetry and song. The main purpose of this thesis is the study of "Quatre chansons de jeunesse" which is the Debussy's collection of songs. This thesis researched nationalism, impressionism art, symbolism, "Commedia dell'arte" and the characteristics of Debussy's music. Based on them, four songs in the collection of songs were analysed contents, form, chord, melody, rhythm, and accompaniment and so on. As a result this paper presented that , in Debussy's "Quatre Chansons de jeunesse", it was not only the effective expression of an symbolism poem and the sense of color of an impressionistic art but also Debussy's own unique composition technique to emphasize the feeling of French. The result of this thesis shows that Debussy had developed his own music expression style different from many 19th century composers.
